Bio

Having graduated this last year with a B.S. in Arts Administration at Butler University in Indianapolis, I moved back home to Milwaukee to savor in the huge arts scene. Currently taking the odyssey of being 20-something by storm, playing any stringed instrument that comes my way. I joined a few ukulele clubs (Indianapolis, Chicago, Milwaukee, Oconomowoc), and also picking up banjo, mandolin and guitar.

Hi thanks for commenting on Don't You Smile At Me. I did not consider the upbeat strumming with the somewhat downer lyrics. It is supposed to be ironic and humorous. You know it's hard to make a uke sound sad. smile

Thanks for the comment! Yeah, most things on the track are a guitar - the percussion is me hitting the strings, and I put some distortion and tremolo on it. I also have a very discreet backing track that's just feedback from the mic. I also treated the vocal tracks as if they were guitars, so there's distortion, reverb, etc. on those too.

I'm a Packer's fan, tried and true...grew up 30 miles from Green Bay smile But I married a Giants fan, so we have a deal. we will root for each other's teams as long as they don't play each other. Then we have to watch in separate houses so we don't kill each other smile

Thanks for the lovely comment. I'm up for trying anything on the uke. What sort of surfer song did you have in mind? Are we thinking Beach Boys or Dick Dale? Given my pitch control I think I would stand more chance at the latter smile

Hey girl ... by popular demand I'm dustin' off my mandolin and workin' the bluegrass song up. I'm gonna go with it keyed in "A"
progression feels like it will be :
    A - D - A - A
    A - D - E - E
    A - G - D - G
A - D - A - A throughout the entire song. I'll try to do a video (since I can't record on the computer yet) but it will take me a few days ... I'll give you a heads up when I get it
