I write hundreds of songs a year -- it is both a creative outlet and therapy. I love the process, I love sharing them and to lesser degrees I love recording and performing them. I definitely fantasize about being stuck in a room writing songs all day long -- in fact I do often 'fish' a location (kitchens and porches have a magnetic power over me) but I like to write while traveling, as well. I love the power of rhyme to lead me by the ear into some absurd situation wrapped around a homey epiphany.
I yearn for songs that have a story, a point of view, that use humor to carve a little deeper into the soul, that feel like they've been written right now, on the spot, just for you, because of the moment we're having. Songs are such a wild amazing, evolutionary enterprise -- from singing in the shower, to hearing hopscotch songs sung by little kids, to distorted blaring car speaker vibrations that turn a souped up Honda Civic into a giant kazoo, to a whispered lullabye, to a lost feeling you can't remember.
No songs by this fawmer (yet).
