Hi 2018'ers! - I'm currently working on my first album! I've decided to participate this year. I can't resist. It's been a heck of a year for me, been there done that, trying to keep sanity in all of the insanity and big changes in my life.

Goals for Fawm 2018:
1. Write happier songs.
2. Practice production with what I have. Being creative.

Fawm 2016 - 15 songs. (2 collabs, 3 skrms).
Fawm 2017 - 14 songs (2 collabs, few skrms).
Fawm 2018 - 14 songs (2 collabs, 3 skrms).

2016 was my first fawm and I've learned that when you got the passion and the drive with a target, the sky is the limit. It changed my life.

I think one of the biggest compliments I could receive is someone coming back to listen to a song again. Thank you for your kind comments on “Than The Day Before”. Means a lot to me!

  • @adforperu  Mar 1

Hey mate, congrats on hitting 14 (+!), I'll be over for a listen over the next few days

  • @dani312 Mar 1

  • @zecoop  Mar 1

No worries!! Glad you liked it. (redo-ing the bass now, lol)

  • @zecoop  Mar 1

p.s. - The bass is now on Shades and Shadows. It still needs electric guitar, but Chris will get to that sometime in the next week. 😀

  • @zecoop  Mar 1

Thanks for listening! The bass is missing because I'm recording it right now, lol. I had to get it posted. Chris also has not done the electric guitar yet... 😀

i have never met Saar, but she is close friends and musical collaborator with one of mybest friends from my formative years. she brought him to Israel for some concerts and he brought her to Seattle Wa in the US for the same. I was just wondering if you had hear do her, since you might like each others music.

  • @billwhite51 Feb 28

Haim, I was wondering if you know, or have heard of, an Israeli songwriter named Saar Liven?

  • @sarahmonticue Feb 27

Thank you so much for your encouraging words when I shared it the forum and on my song Armor - it’s one of my faves, and it meant a lot to have someone listen to it 😀

  • @elliottlawrence Feb 27

I think I can do it! I'll try to write a song tonight and then tomorrow I'm taking the day off and hopefully can crank out the last 2. This month has been intense lol. Good luck on your last one!

Thanks for your almighty contribution to our community. You have 300 thank you’s from your fellow FAWMers and from me! Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 26

did u get my message mate

  • @tan482  Feb 26

Thank you Haim for your lovely comments and for having me play on "Reasonable Man". I have absolutely LOVED the many and varied collabs this time around, as I love playing in different styles. Would be happy to collab in the future! Congratulations on the win too 😁

  • @cblack  Feb 26

    (Just saw the second comment.)

Yes! Experiment v4.2 is all about simple. Glad to hear you think simple is beautiful. I guess you're my target audience? 😝

If you like simple, check out some of my other tracks. (Don't worry - you don't need to comment if you don't want to. Just thought you might enjoy them is all. 😀)

  • @cblack  Feb 26

Thanks so much for the comment! It means a lot to me. And yes, I am aiming to do something a bit different to "regular" electronica. So yeah. Thanks again!

  • @reisupstudio  Feb 26

thank you I just reposted Give Me Your Tired, because I had noticed a mistake. I hope it works now. Thank you for listening.

  • @aprilm  Feb 25

Thanks for building my confidence once again 😀 It warms my heart to know there are people out there who enjoy my singing. It's going to be so dull once February is over! Maybe we can connect via Facebook or Twitter. I have made lots of wonderful online friends from FAWM and always love to add more!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 25

Thx for your lovely comments. So how would you like to try and do the music for Goodbye! Everyone likes it and i am 16 songs behind on music. I reckon your guitar and voice would be excellent for it. Let me know does need to be done by 28th.

  • @judypie  Feb 25

Haha yes I saw Eminem at Wembley! Clearly picked up some stuff from him 😀

  • @berni1954  Feb 25

No, I'm not from Georgia, but I have friends who are. I live in Catalonia which shares St George with Georgia as its patron saint - but we call him Sant Jordi 😀

  • @sheilerk  Feb 25

Hi, Haim. Thank you for reading and leaving your comments on my song Follow My Footsteps. I know it was pretty wordy! I'm glad you got the main idea though.

  • @barbara  Feb 25

Hello, Haim! You are too sweet! I never perform publicly, so there is no point in my being in Israel for that reason. However, I am going to sing at a friend's wedding in a couple of weeks, which might help get me over my stage fright. FAWM has done wonders for my willingness to let others hear my songs. But a pub would be pushing it. LOL!! Thank you so much for the positive feedback; I'm very happy that you felt calmed by the cowboy song. Thank you!

  • @tunecat  Feb 25

Thanks for your comment on my round up song. In answer to your question.. yes it feels really good to finish the unfinished song. I used to have lots of these, and I hate them cluttering up the place, and the way that they are often elusive = once you've left them, it seems hopefulss to find lyrics that work.. anyway, I'm really pleased with that one. And thanks for stopping by!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 25

Thx for your comments on round up. But hey kingway nights is really really good mate!

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 24

Ha ha im confused now. Who is doing the music. I reckon you should if you could but otherwise i will have a go. Im really the words man.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 24

And you are nearly to your 14. Go go. 😀.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 24

Can we change the title. Maybe The two of us would be apt in so many ways!

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 24

Cheers matey. Its about time i got some foot tapping going on but i not leaving before 14 is done. This week has been so mad we may as well carry on the madness by having a finishing song. Next year i insist we collab. Although now we connected what's to stop us doing that throughout the year. Thank you again for amazing comments

  • @rebeccajasso Feb 22

Thanks for your kind words on "Who Knows the Rain." =]

  • @aneil Feb 22

Thx for comment on my birthday songs. Kids are target audience let’s hope they not too cool to sing

  • @benjo  Feb 22

    hey thank you so much

for your very kind words, means so much

  • @judypie  Feb 22

Einstein huh?! Why thank you! Not sure he ever used the word "ploughing" though 😝

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 22

Thx mate. Ive added a couple more verses hopefully ive grasped your storyline. Will try for some music tonight - will then post as a collaboration.

  • @aprilm  Feb 22

LOL! I love that you were guessing the body parts in Hear My Body! So, what did you guess? I'm curious!

  • @scubed  Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my skirmish song!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your wonderful words, you are way too kind... It would be a true honor to me...

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2018

My voice came back, there's a demo on My Voice now 😀

  • @angelinapowersuit Feb 2018

Thank you for your comments on "Other Side of Her Heart." I'm sorry you understand this feeling of heart break. I'm sorry I understand it too. But I am glad that we understand each other 😀 Thanks also for liking my viola playing, it is always a chore for me to play it, haha.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2018

    @coolparadiso 2 hours
I am colour blind. Its really of little significance these days, but when i was a kid i was forever told what i couldnt do. Thx for your comments. I am learning all the time. I hate videos but until a week ago i had never heard of Soundcloud.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2018

Thank you so much for your moving comment on my crying lyrics Haim.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2018

    Thank You Haim 😀

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2018

I know what you are saying. Hope you feel happy again soon.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2018

Thank you Haim for listening and leaving your beautiful comment on Crying Hopelessley. I agree, the girl on the picture is very beautiful. I felt the image was very moving. It is also amazing how the photographer upload it for free to use. Very generous.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 2018

Thank you Haim for your kind comment and kind interest to my instrumentals with synths. Here are two links:

  • @sueawesome Feb 2018

thank you so much for the compliments on my writing!! so so kind of you

all art I post is my own unless it's part of an article I've reposted

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2018

Oh my goodness Dupletarion Warrior you are AWESOME!! You took the time to write 200 comments and listen to all those songs! Thanks for your hefty contribution to our community. You have 200 thank you’s from your fellow FAWMers and from me! Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @cleanshoes Feb 2018

Thanks for your comment! I recorded them together on my phone because I was pressed for time, though I agree and would love to re-record it with stronger vocals and harmonies. It's a bit of a moot point though, because I don't have any real recording equipment and wouldn't know how to use it if I did! 😁

  • @karlsburg25  Feb 2018

Ha ha . No worries mate. Its sometimes hard to keep track. I about to post a new one, which i think is right up your street. Save your ears for some morning earworms 😉

  • @skittycat  Feb 2018

Thanks for the comments on "Never Saw it Coming" 😀 x

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2018

Thank you @haim! Your support means a lot and thank you for having my back 😁

  • @yam655 Feb 2018

My process? It starts with an empty mind. Quiet and even. My normal background thought is just the sound of my own breathing. Imagine the mental quieting performed before meditation and some forms of prayer. This is where I begin. If I've had a stressful day (or stressful commute home), I explicitly return to this state before I start.

Then I start recording and read the prompt. I open my mouth up. I feel in to the quiet of my mind and start singing.

It's basically like what writers call "freewriting", but I do it with my mouth.

While I'm singing, sometimes I check the time. If I've not hit 2:30-3:00 for the song, I keep going. Sometimes this requires changing direction. That was hard for me at first, but over time it has gotten easier.

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2018

yeah been a tough week mate. If you only get to listen to one - listen to my song "chemo"! always hanging tough though and loving my first Fawn - kept me sane! even done 2 collaborations. We have to do one sometime! keep um coming!

  • @yam655 Feb 2018

Comments on each of the 14 songs? Thanks! That's highly unexpected. 😀 There comes a point where you know you're going overkill, and you only do it for yourself. One of the reasons I like posting them together is that it makes it easier to get comments on them. (I live-streamed the whole set, too, though I don't think I had any watchers.)

  • @danvaillancourt  Feb 2018

Many many thanks for all of your kind words. Thanks for listening. 😉

  • @sunnymae  Feb 2018

Also Join one of the skirmishes we have them all day today. I find the prompt words get me out of my old boring patterns and Spark new ideas.

  • @sunnymae  Feb 2018

I find when I have writer's block best thing to do is to stop. I take a walk. I have a coffee like I am doing now. I watch people. I listen to all the music coming out of the speaker. My conscious mind is distracted. That way the unconscious mind will continue to come up with ideas. When you come home relaxed They will come back out. Worst thing for me is to force it then I get nervous and then I say terrible things to myself. So go out and try it and maybe you already did. Hakol yihiyeh b'seder🤗🤗

  • @judypie  Feb 2018

Lol, I am trying to fire out if you said I am on fire cos of the lyrics in the song! Thank you for inspiring it anyway 😀 Nooooo, sorry to hear you're in a slump!! I am off to Manchester now to watch the professionals do it!

  • @sunnymae  Feb 2018

Hope you're having a great time Haim! Shabbat Shalom🌻⚘🌺

  • @hazzard Feb 2018

Thanks for your comments on "Paella"! I listened to the new version of Wishing Too Much and I LOVE the harmonies. gorgeous! Can't wait to listen to more of your stuff!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 2018

I would like to thank you very much for your gorgeous comment! I was very happy to read it!

  • @mikkojuhani Feb 2018

Thanks! You too. Gonna be a good FAWM again it seems.

  • @wacha  Feb 2018

Thank you for your kind words on "Start Again".

  • @mdavisto  Feb 2018

I love it. I mean, you're good singer anyway, but, when you sing in Hebrew, there's something about it. Maybe it's because I don't understand the language so I'm not distracted by the words, but it feels like, when you sing in Hebrew, there's a depth of feeling there that I don't detect in your other tracks.

Please understand, I'm not saying your other tracks are inferior. I'm saying, in this track, you really sell it. I feel this track 100%.

  • @majordanby  Feb 2018

Thanks for listening to Be Good Be Else Be Gone. This is the first full song I’ve written in a longtime and it came from nowhere. I initially found the chords, whilst recording them for reference I ad libbed the words. Dan’s a fan of Radiohead, I’m not really so not sure what I was thinking. The muse obviously has his/her reasons. (Karl).

  • @mdavisto  Feb 2018

Of course I listened. I was trying to comment when you deleted it. As far as I can tell its the only Hebrew song you posted. I can't speak Hebrew, so I don't know what it was about, but I was going to find out.

  • @heidiserwer  Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your comments, Haim! I’m a little slow to get started this year but will try to catch up soon!

  • @dianaviney Feb 2018

    Glad your back!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your lovely and kind comments! It would be an honor to me...

  • @adforperu  Feb 2018

I enjoy that you reviewed my review, ha! Keep bringing us the good stuff man 😀 You and Julie should collab again this FAWM!

  • @mdavisto  Feb 2018

Hey! post that "test" track again, I was digging that.

  • @treble  Feb 2018

Haim, thank you so much for your kind comments on my LyriCloud skirmish song "Stuck Blues." Nice to hear it "stuck" with you.

  • @degausser  Feb 2018

Haha, no problem dude! I'm hearing word of a collaboration that you're doing with one of my friends... Can't wait to hear that!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2018

Haha! Thank you @haim that was totally awesome of you. Big hugs!!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2018

Congratulations you wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @dani312 Feb 2018

Oh, and yes - I was playing all the instruments. It’s ukelele, plucked violin and bowed violin. (And lots of vocal harmonies etc). I’m not good enough at guitar to accompany myself, so I’ve been using ukelele (or piano).

  • @dani312 Feb 2018

Yeah, I’m finding it hard to get the time to record it properly!! It’s about 40% of the way done, so hopefully I can post it tomorrow! Having two kids under 3 makes it virtually impossible to have any spare time!

  • @garlajoie Feb 2018

Welcome back Haim! Fellow Bon Jovi and Aerosmith fan here. I'm sure you've heard of the girl group HAIM? They've made it big recently, you may be interested in checking them out if you're into big fun pop songs.

  • @skylermf Feb 2018

Hello! Wasn’t sure if I should comment on your song or your profile, so I’m doing both haha. Love the new changes to your song.
My songwritings been smooth so far, fourth song is basically written but I want to make sure it’s ready before I record it. I’m a bit worried I’ll lose inspiration after that one, but that’s what skirmishes are for. How’s your FAWM been?

  • @colgoo  Feb 2018

No problem....I went ahead and did that demo.... I still think you’d have done a better job, because you’re amazing at production!!! But, I eagerly anticipate doing a collaboration with you!!!

  • @quintonbarnes Feb 2018

Hey - thank you so much for your kind words! I was a member of the band 'Anderson Hall' from two years back. I skipped out last year but I decided to rejoin FAWM this year as a way to focus and force myself to work. I love your music, I still remember some of your songs from two years back and I'm happy we're reacquainted!

  • @visiblydistorted Feb 2018

Thanks for your kind words about "Cosmic Symphony" , yes that line is totally about meditation! The peaceful resting state that connects folks to something greater.

  • @degausser  Feb 2018

Of course you are good in terms of what you do too, but I'd never say that about myself. 😝

  • @degausser  Feb 2018

I've just read my comment on your song again. When I said "good" I meant that we're both obviously in a good place in terms of getting those happier emotions in music. And by showing off, I mean 'expressing that emotion outwardly'. Does that make sense?

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2018

Mate how do you find the song numbers? thx doesnt come up on IPad does on my desktop

  • @coolparadiso  Feb 2018

Thx for your comments on “my freedom” I enjoyed singing it more than any other thats why i clicked favourite even though its not as complete a song as Stories Past. Keep em rolling!

  • @elliottlawrence Feb 2018

Thanks for the nice comments! I'll definitely try to add some EQ to the piano because I see what you mean about it not being as clear. I'm suddenly developing so much respect for people who include vocals/other instruments in their demos 😀

  • @lieke Feb 2018

Hi Haim, Thank you so much for your nice comments, made me blush... My name is short for Angelique, and then made into the Dutch version. Because it's so difficult to pronounce in English I wrote a song for FAWM 2010 I think, What's in a name, with the line that you can call me LJ if you like, my initials.

  • @madthesinger  Feb 2018

I changed my path because I took a class about teaching students with disabilities and felt called to that. I realized I can incorporate my love of music and arts into my teaching and life outside of the classroom. I wanted music to still be something I enjoyed and was not reliant on it for income.

  • @heidiserwer  Feb 2018

Thanks for listening and for your kind comments. I look forward to listening to your two new songs today!
