Hi. Congrats on being a winner. Thanks for the collab on 'Blockade'. I've enjoyed all your lyrics and hope you'll return next year smile

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a nice comment for me to wake up to smile

Great! If you're happy then let's submit it as an official Fawm collaboration entry. If I get a chance I will add to the demo with other instrumentation. Otherwise, in the meantime, I'm glad you like it smile

I've put a demo version online. Let me know what you think and then I can make make any changes:

Hi. Think I've pretty much sorted the tune. I've had to tweak the lines a little to scan in the verse. I also changed the word 'highway' because in England we'd say 'motorway' but to keep it neutral I've gone with 'fast lane'. Open to suggestion though. I've also penned a 2nd verse but again totally open to your input.

VERSE 1: Flyin'' down this icy road/Don't want to pull the brakes/But, roadblock in the fast lane/Future so far away BRIDGE:As soon as I get out of this rut/I step into another puddle again
Whenever I try to take cover/The clouds no matter what
(will this never end) CHORUS: Where there is pain there is comfort/Where there is fear we are brave/To find an opening through this
Blockade VERSE 2: Falling off this pinnacle/It's a long way down/Compelled by gravity/Future too hard now BRIDGE CHORUS MID8: We will push/We will pull/We will find our way through CHORUS CHORUS

I'm happy with the lyrics and a change to the brave line. I'm going to try working music to the song tomorrow. Exciting!!

Hi Again. Yes, the 'Every Cloud' angle is the kind of thing. The line about a roadblock made me think of 'blockade'. How about 'Through This Blockade' as a working title? The chorus could go something like this:

Where there is pain there is comfort
Where there is fear there is brave
    There is an opening
    Through this blockade

Verse/bridge lyrics may need adapting to lead into the chorus but let me know what you think?

Bummer! Though, I know how that goes; I just got what I thought would work with my computer to record, and alas, it is not nearly going the way I thought it would.

    Twice!! Oops....

Hi, sorry wasn't deliberately ignoring you - I just didn't see your posts till now! Anyway, thanks for the lyrics. Highlights are the opening line and stepping out of a rut into another puddle is clever. Definitely a good starting point. I have promised myself that my next song would be a happy one. So, I either save the collab till after my next composition or we adapt your lyrics and create a chorus with a sense of hope?

Excellent! Can you point me in the direction of some of your unused lyrics, or would you rather I try working with one your existing FAWM submissions? I'm in the UK and it's late now so I'll catch up with you tomorrow. Night night.

Hi, thanks for your comment. I came to check you out and I've really enjoyed your lyrics. Do have any lyrics that need music for a collaboration?
  • arealhope 3 months ago
Thanks so much for the awesome comments on my other songs!! smile Means a lot!! smile I love my world tongue
  • thebschip 3 months ago
Hey, thanks for the nice thoughts! I actually struggled with the idea of keeping or ditching that last line, and I decided to go with it because, though not the ideal situation, from the girl's perspective, that is probably what she would think of herself. I like what you've got here; I look forward to hearing your music if you can put demos up!
