I play guitar. I really do. And I will this month. I promise.
Update 28/2 - so I made it! Bit of a mad rush on last day, partly cos my day was hijacked by snow and the kids' school was closed (see 'wolf alliance' below). Glad to have got there and massively enjoyed the challenge but I also enjoyed listening to other people's stuff just as much and have discovered some amazing artists and musicians who've really inspired me. Going to take next couple of weeks to finilise some of the tracks and 'produce' the album!

Tx for listenng and commenting on UNDONE, 😀 cheers
Thanks for the comment on our song. And we really appreciated the listen! I'm glad you liked the backing vocals, but I could've done so much more with them! I'm planning on updating the demo asap. So look forward to the new and improved version soon!
How do I get that guitar sound? Double tracking. Actually 4 layers of rhythm guitars, two hard left and two hard right. I have a Kemper profiling amp, and when I was at Skyhammer Studio last year working on the last Abomnium album I profiles the Peavey 5150 and Marshall JCM800 heads we used for the guitar sounds. So I how have em at home! 😁
I'd love to colab with you as well. Really appreciate your flava. 😁 Let's keep in touch, please. Are you doing 50/90 this year? I plan on going again, though I really feel like I flopped last year. LOL. I just love the brain stretch.
Man, I have REALLY enjoyed listening to all your tunes. Such a range of delights on offer, and so nice to finish on a Friday evening with some chilled-out pieces while I have a beer 😁
Thank you so much for the listens and comments on my tunes. I really appreciate that you've taken the time for it 😁
Thx for your comments. Its a bit ironic that i want to produce like you and you want to try playing some songs more stripped down like mine. Ha ha. Maybe we are searching for a happy medium.
That korg minilogue is on my radar for sure... Not sure you'd need the Volca Bass if you have that! I loved what I heard - Will definitely be checking out more from you. 😀
I agree - I have no choice but to play, since I can't for the life of me figure out midi. So no midi or programming on my songs. It's all played - it is more fun, in my opinion. Of course it also limits me, since I stink at keyboards, lol. 😀
Hey there... Appreciate the listen to Industry. Glad you liked it! Most of the 'synths" I used on that one were $10 80's cheapo keyboards. The bass one is the only real synth out of them, and I do highly recommend the Korg Volca Bass. I use it a ton and they are really inexpensive. Great analog sound, even though you can only play one note at a time. Congrats on the win! I'll check out some of yours for sure. 😀
Thanks for your comments about "Am I the Right Guy". I was on the road and limited in my studio. The guitar is a 3/4 size inexpensive acoustic recorded through the Apogee One audio interface built-in condenser mic with electric guitar amp modelling plugin making it sound like an electric. Same with the mouth harp. With the harp I believe I went heavy on compression, overdrive and reverb and took down the high end with eq. Was fun to put together.
Not sure how I missed you in FAWM. Very enjoyable. As you highlighted there are a few that need some bits to finalise. Those bits wont make it good - its already very good - they will make this in the top 2 or 3 albums I have heard on here and in my opinion a saleable item. Thx for sharing it was excellent.
Do you still want to do album swap. Let me know and if yes. I will put you on the list. Its getting smaller now so i will have time soon. J
Yeah - let's do it!
I've started my journey thru your songs and I'm really liking what I'm hearing! Will likely take me a day or three to get all the way to 14, y'know what with work and stuff getting in the way 😉
If you want to safely navigate thru mine, then I try to tag things properly.
1, 3, 5, 9, 20 and 23 are the most metal, and may at some point become songs for my band Abomnium. As a contrast, 2, 7, 10, 14, 15, 18 and 22 are much more relaxed 😉
Pick some that take your fancy, or get a 24-sided dice (er...) and have at it at random!
Thanks for all your great comments and support.
Seeing as you mentioned the disruption due to snow are you in the UK?
Also congrats on a super FAWM win. I hope you'll be back for more and keep in touch. My email link is right next to my profile name!
Thanks for the kind comments on "We Are Waiting" and yes you're right about the Galliano/Courdroy acid jazz influences. I loved those bands 😀
Thanks for the compliments on "My Shadow." Had fun with that one. Interesting comparison with Jordan Rakei. I checked him out and didn't hear an immediate similarity, but after his second song I definitely heard some with his rhythmic phrasing of the lyrics/melody.
thanks for listening/commenting!
Hey no worries, likewise. It's coming. I'm tired. The month is catching up with me. A few hours and it'll be up.
“Three Foul Throws - The Serge Aurier Story”
Hey, thanks for all the great comments on my songs! Cheers!
Thanks for your comments on our Africa-esque tune. Going to come back and listen here 😉 And yeah I feel you on the being smug and listening to underground stuff (especially from other parts of the world) then it's suddenly cool ha ha ha ha
Thank you for your kind words on "Lady Jane".
Thanks for all your comments and support. It means a lot. 😀
aww, thanks so much!! 😁
Thanks so much for listening and the supportive and kind and generous comments on my song 'Living Silence ' . This means a lot to me . Thankyou kindly .
Thanks for listening. YES! Some tabla would be amazing! Know anyone? 😉
That sounds splendid. My good man, my writing process - hell, my LIFE - is FULL of half-arsed plans. 😉
My friend, I do believe you're onto something.
HA! Thanks for your kind words about "Jai Alai Fever", and I completely get where you're coming from - adding a bit of mystery to the lyrical origin would have made it a different animal. I exposed the Wizard of Oz, so to speak, for 2 reasons: 1) I didn't want to take credit where credit certainly wasn't due, and 2) I laughed WAY too hard at the "lyrical" process not to share it. 😉
I thank you again, and I look forward to more supersexy swingin' sounds on your end!!
Thanks so much for your comment on my song Wakeful Night!
Wow thank you so much for the comment on "I'm Still Standing"! I'm humbled! Glad you enjoyed the song!
A third song?!?!!! Well lets see, we got thirteen whole days left this month, two full weekends included, and you say we should look at writing at least one more song during this time?!? I have to say, it doesn't look good!!! 😉 😉 😉
Thanks for the comments on "Just Perfection." That middle vocal section has a guitar echo on it. I've been getting a little silly with the presets!
Thanks so much for listening and commenting on my song 'Grain of Sand ' Cheers mate ! 😊👍
My friend, I totally get that. And my pleasure.
Thanks! That laugh is from an old sample pack I have but it's also been used by people like Deadmau5. I think he used it in Moar GhostsnStuff
Thank you! I'm VERY flattered by the Flea comparison.
Thanks for the listen to Igor '77 - glad you liked it and yes its a patch in an effects box ( Axe FX) that makes you go weeeeowww like an old analog synth.
Thanks for listening and your nice comment. 😀
Thanks again for your comment ! Of course, I would love to work with a drummer... or a guitarist ? 😁
Thanks for your comment on "Power Couple"! I try to follow the age-old wisdom of "write what you know".
And one thing I know: girls almost always have eyeballs.
Thank you. Just put a second one up. Good luck this year 😀
Thanks much for your nice comment and suggestions. Sometimes feedback can give a song a new, inspired direction.
Re: Nothin -- Thanks for the comment on my Stones inspired tune! I think I'd like to work with it, exactly how you described it, to fill out the vibe more. Great to be here!
Thank you for the supportive comments! Glad you like my tracks. I think "Into the Deep" will stay instrumental for now, been such an intensive period of writing and tracking now, voice getting tired so time for more instrumental stuff next week, haha.
Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Here’s your badge. Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!
Thank you again, kind sir. 😀
Now get your act together and gimme some more of YOUR tunes to listen to! 😁
It's hard for me to write lyrics without any music, so I would say first step is sending me a musical idea. It could be anything for a single chord progression to an almost fleshed out song. As to your time deficit, no pressure. If you run out of time and it doesn't work out, I won't hold it against you. 😀
If you come up with something you want to send my way, my email is linked through my page.
You got it!! 😉 And new (to here) track up yesterday!!
Thanks a lot! I think I'm going to leave "7th Street" instrumental, just needed the encouragement.
Thanks a lot for the comment on "Help Yourself"! Glad you liked it!
Wow, that is extremely kind of you! Thanks for the listens!
Thank you so much for your comment on Emma Lee!
Sent you a DM on soundcloud with a link to stems
What DAW do you use? I'm using reaper and can send the stuff over. Also, would you mind if I remixed your demo of Stay? I have some ideas that popped up.
If you wanna take a crack at Sleeper Cell, go ahead! Gotta get those collabs in, y'know? I can send you the raw tracks if you want.
And you shall get more, my friend! I, too, want more!
I will keep an eye out for any more music you post, especially if it seems tea related. Also, if you want to collaborate at all, let me know. Your musical style is really different than mine and I would love trying to write some lyrics to something you made.
You too! I want to hear some more funkiness from your direction!
Glad you're enjoying Guy Fox. They're one of those bands that deserve to be massive but seem to fly under the radar. I think every track on the album Night Owl has been my favourite at some point!
I do actually like Earl Grey quite a bit and every once in a while I will take it with almond milk. Don't tell!
Tea has appeared in a few of my songs, actually, but the crowning jewel was a indie/hip-hop/reggaeton song my brother wrote for me about a time in my life where I was barely getting by as a private math tutor, but kept blowing all my spare money on loose-leaf tea. It was called Tea Alchemy Economy and included such lines as "I teach English and mathematics / Spend my paycheck on aromatics / Don't get angry, helps me relax / What I buy with the money that they don't tax". I wish to god we had a decent recording of that song.
I must confess, I'm generally bigger on Chinese style tea than British. No milk or sugar for this girl. But I do love scones.
Thank you for your kind words on "Start Again".
Thank you loads for droppinv in for the listens and lovely comments! 😊
It means a lot to me. 🤘
Thanks much for your comment! ^-^ Very appreciated
Hi! Thanks for visiting my track and I'm glad you enjoyed it. The voice you asked about is the Arturia CMI Fairlight V preset called "Synthpop Lead."
Thanks again for your comment and thank you so much for following me 😁
HAHA proper musicians- this was a very shoddy rehearsal but when we are on form and rehearsed with the harmonies and instrumental arrangement sorted I hope we can be good! Thanks for listening !
Thanks for your comments. I had my reservations about putting it up and hoped someone would say something along those lines. I think my next song has got to be a nice one about my little angel.
Thank you for taking the time to comment and listen. Appreciate it! 😉
Thanks for all the nicecomments. Everything thats sounds like a drunk malfunctioning robot on Fat Leather is probably the SpeakNSpell.
Thanks for your comment ! I'm watching you now 😉
Thanks for the comments. Looking forward to hearing something from you!
Thank you for the nice comment! Happy FAWMing 😀
Thanks for listening & commenting! Much appreciated.
Hi, thanks for the kind comment! Nik Kershaw is one of my musical heroes, so I am thrilled by that 😀
Thank you for listening and commenting on Full Moon NY eve.
Hope you have a great FAWM...welcome
Thanks for the comment fonte, I also had a travelling scene in mind 😀
Great to have you with us, we have a heap of fun here together. Welcome! 😀
