Bio

Holy crap I'm on the radio!

http://doncampau.podomatic.com
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm a guy with a job who writes and plays music in his spare time. I'm one half of The Really Good Pot Roast, a band currently working on it's third album. I've been playing music sice I started piano lessons at age 5.

The Really Good Pot Roast (my band with JonnieGrunge) now has a BandCamp page where you can grab either one of our albums at whatever price you think is fair - including free!

I've never done FAWM before so I don't know what to expect. Having gone from being a 50/90 winner to finishing the band's second album, I'm not sure how much song writing I'll be doing, but definitely looking forward to being back in touch with the FAWM./FiNiner community.

Our band now has a blog. Come read our ramblings and listen to more of our music. http://thereallygoodpotroast.tumblr.com

Kudos! The bass track for Wet is a DIRECT rip-off of the very bassline you suspected. I still use that bassline as my warm-up for funk tunes. I changed just enough to avoid plagarism charges.
  • jamkar 2 months ago
Great Rob! Thanks for stimulating my pen with your gorgeous chord progression.
  •  mikegtz 2 months ago
Rob, here is my version using Mari's lyrics and mine. I put it up as a collab on my site. http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/7/7/2501475//myleft2.mp3
  • jamkar 2 months ago
Posted my collab this morning. Hope it's o.k.

Fender, I can try-let me download the track and see if I can make it work for My Left, Your Right.

Thanks for checking out my Untitled #2 song. I've put vocals on it, and it's now titled "Raise Your Voices". Hope you come back and check it out! - http://fawm.org/songs/22216/
  • wolfkier 3 months ago
Yeah that kind of distortion can be a royal pain.
You might want to put a note on the song about the direct flow into the next, for anyone who stumbles on it by chance / out of order.
Anyway primo job, I'll drop by and listen to some more soon.
    wolf.
  • kiwafruit 3 months ago

Congrats on getting on the radio. And thanks for leaving a comment on my filthy little tune.
  •  downburst 3 months ago
Thanks for the kind comment! Tina's lyrics are so great, the music seems almost secondary.
  • janeukey 3 months ago
Hiya fender, nice to see some familiar faces around smile 3 songs already?? Yikes, I have some catching up to do... smile
  • skipcoble 3 months ago
So then, as a real life robot, what kind of Tele do you play/like/have? (Interesting thought that an advanced technology, humanoid robot, would play the simplest guitar..) I'm also an avid Esquire/Tele enthusiast, have 3 Esquires and 1 Tele. Refuse to play any other electric guitars now lol.
  •  mikegtz 3 months ago
Rob, great meeting you in NYC this weekend also. How did the 24 hour shift go? Listened to your first song and you are off to a good start.
  •  cloudboy 3 months ago
Thanks Rob! It's just my foot tapping on the ground. I tend to do that a lot. I knew that I had to have a kazoo in the song. It just felt right.
  •  corinnecurcio 3 months ago
    have a faboo fawm!
  • davieblue 3 months ago
hello mr.tele. I'm watchlisting you for no other reason than I assume from your username that you like telecasters. Is that shallow? IDK ...
  •  valeriecox 3 months ago
Intruiged, huh? smile Well, we'll see how it all goes. Glad you're back.
  •  timfatchen 3 months ago
Didn't realise you'd not been on FAWM before (5090 and FAWM merge in my tired brain). FAWM is fizzier and more intense!
  •  sapient 3 months ago

  • kiwafruit 3 months ago

  • mikeskliar 3 months ago
I meant to say Jan 28th! (sorry for any confusion) Hope you can make it Jan 28th...
  •  echovoodoo 3 months ago
After 50/90, the pace of FAWM is almost stately. Well, okay, that's not quite right, but it's definitely manageable!

Glad to see you here - I look forward to hearing your music.
  • kiwafruit 3 months ago
Yay! You're coming over to FAWM too!
Technically that "Three chords and the truth" was my idea for last year, but I didn't really do that so gonna try again this year.
  • deafsteever 3 months ago
Hey, how's it goin'? Welcome to FAWM! Last year was my first. I managed to make 15 tunes. However, I seriously doubt that will be possible this year! Looking forward to your tunes. Have fun! smile
