I hunger for comments...but then again I'm not as good so folk are gentle. I like gentle comments...or random comments that give me a window into your soul. Either one

I feel like I know you so much better now! Thanks for giving me a listen, and if you ever cross the boarder into Wisconsin I would happily greet you at our door at 11:00 PM. Then I'd call my daughter "Remember that odd fellow that gave you the vid comment during FAWM? Well guess what...." One more "kid" is here with us.   Thanks for all the comments! yeah that was my four year old running through the room on *25234. while the Lego games are incredibly awesome I am of the opinion that my husband is infinitely cooler than both me and the games and well most things really re *27086! a video will be coming at some point for *27444, which was my husbands brain child. So glad that you got the princess bride reference in *28681. Funny that you mentioned The Last Airbender as that was part of the inspiration for this song which my son was watching at the time I wrote this, the terrible movie not the awesome cartoon, which he also loves and we watch, but I won't get going on the terribleness right now. but anyways back to what I was doing, Frank is the guy that started/runs Post Secret *31688. when we make a video for *31696 I will add something in about Americano and cream. I am forever trying to get iron working early and then crank out Immortals as Persia because I don't like the long game - and I am forever going, "huh, no iron around here, what am I gonna do now?" and all the other leaders look down on me and offer me bad deals.   Hey, Errol, thanks for your comments - you have a gift for funny... and yes, I have to admit that I wasn't particularly forthcoming with information in the songs. I'll get to your stuff in a bit here, but I really can't promise that level of hilarity.
  
  'Fur Flabis Flebis' comes from the story I was working with (I never would have decided to use it on my own) and means (fwiw) "Oh Thief, you will blow it, you will weep." Ok, now I'm not sure if I should have enlightened you
  
  As for 'Up the Jetty' let me just say that I had to modify it because in the original story it was a dream where someone was being chased down the beach and having to scramble over a series of BLACK GROYNES. I figured I could either go for funny or come up with a synonym, and I just wasn't confident in my ability to make it funny and not... disturbing, offensive, something.

  Re your comment on "Erda" (*31522) - Wagner just went and mashed all the mythology he could get his hands on together, so I'd not trust him. If there is a "real one", it is more likely to be found in the mythology.
  
  I don't have Rudolf Simeks lexicon of germanic mythology at hand, but AFAIK, Jord/Jördh and Erda are much the same entity by two names, and the "Earth goddess" thing is correct.
  
  And the winter song... if people here wouldn't build heatings and transportation that fail at -10°C (that is 14°F) and colder, that last winter would have been more bearable. And if I hadn't been so constantly sick.

  Uh yeah, I got my share of errol-ness in my song comments Glad you like my songs. *24279 is indeed an angry song. It is the only song this year where I dismiss my usual attempt not to talk my music down. It turned out really crappy, but writing it was so much fun. And it did the job of venting frustration
  
  And yeah, we have ramen here. The one cheap food, aside from Döner in Berlin!
  
  And considering your comment on "Wiedersehn" (*22293) - @karan is great at finding really tricky words. She's doing that on purpose, I suspect, but you do very well at pronouncing them.

  Thanks for your extensive feedback!!! Some comments:
  * "You were American" would be a great sentence actually;
  * There were no references in there, I am a closet geek so I try to avoid geek references;
  * I lived in a house that was actually worse - I guess that's why the atmosphere is so genuine;
  * The sentence just came to me - afterwards I did think of Mr. Honda, but there are probably thousands of people called Honda;
  * No animals were hurt in the making of these songs.

  Hi Errol! Thanks for listening to my (only) contribution this FAWM (which I will forever reference as the Year of Fail...I mean one song? Bah! ).
  You hit the nail on the head about fitting melody and lyrics to stuff that starts out as instrumental - it's quite hard to isolate or add that missing hook if it isn't there already. That's why I think the decision between instrumental or lyrics-driven has to be made at the very start otherwise things will get complicated.
  
  Anyway, I see you had a good year so I'll try to have a listen as soon as I find some time! Take care!

  No need to be confused...any non-guitar backing that you hear on my demo songs is computer-generated. I have sequencers, accompaniment programs, a rather good sampler, and a fairly long history with MIDI.
  
  I can't actually *play* a musical keyboard but they're fine data input devices.
  
  My first year on FAWM I did a bunch of arranged things but it takes more time, hence all the guitar-only ones.

  ALSO I have a bit of a suave editing sample of you saying, "I like the beat... and It's cool... and deep... and vacuum tubey..." which was going to be in the song but I felt that the song wasn't good enough for it. So expect to hear that after whatever breakdown I deem worthy.

  The last thing I was expecting upon return is a comment from you on every single song. Apparently called a "comment blitz"... I should start doing that. The coughing in Gummy Bears is right before the drop. I warped it I think by pitch bending it and maybe a bit of bitcrushing (I don't remember). Maaan I wish my cat song was better. Needs more purring. I um... used plugins that emulate real guitar pedals. Well, actually I used a plugin that emulates real guitar amps and shoegaze is a subgenre of rock that is known for it's heavily distorted rhythm guitars, crazy effect pedal leads, and most of all, the way the performers stare at their feet as they play. The vocal bits have some swearing in them.
  
  And pleeeeaaassee give me some vocal samples. As much as you want. I make most of my instruments that way and I recently learned just how punishing a penalty using an unauthorized sample is. Mouse Boss has your tapping the table and the riser is made from you saying "ALLO".

  To answer your insane comment blitz: No, you have not given me a video comment and if you did I would be sufficiently impressed with your dancing. I don't know how you met your wife but I am now enlightened. My girlfriend did actually send me a cardboard postcard paper plane and it was quite awesome. No it didn't get wrecked, but it couldn't fly either. Feeling Down is not about allergies but you are welcome to make that interpretation, I know that feel since I myself suffer nut allergies.   I can fix Pascal code for a black-box coded Dice Cricket game like a BOSS. O.o
  And do binary and hex and bubble sorts and dry coding and boolean algebra and that stuff.

  So, out of sheer curiosity of the variety which would make my pet cats quail, i ventured to the debsanderrol website, and attempted a perusal of your web comic - fully protected with goggles, rubber gloves, and a lab coat, of course.
  Two hours later, i have read 109 debsanderrol comics, and am fully saturated with off-the-wall, bounced-off-the-ceiling-on-the-way-past, landed-a-glancing-blow-on-the-window-and-shattered-it humour and i think it's affecting my jusgement, because now the site's on my favourites list, and i'm looking forward to next time i have several fre hours so can read more...
  I think i should have worn a gas mask as well, this stuff is clearly addictive
  It should probably be reported as toxic and defined as dangerous, like as not...

  It's fine, my family thought it was darn funny. I laughed quite a bit myself. Just as long as you know how to pronounce it now but thanks again for playing it and having to go through all that work for it now I know how to fix the rest of my songs.
