NINTH year FAWMing. I love the madness, the camaraderie, the creativity... 😀
MOST of all I love playing in this huge cybernet sandbox, where everybody shrieks and giggles and throws the sand and their songwritery toys all around and nobody gets hurt. 😀
This year again I'm writing lyrics for a co-writer in the UK. After finishing an album near the end of 2017, this year we're working on one in the blues/gospel genre. So I'm depending on FAWM to inspire something that will be decent enough to polish up later.
UPDATE Feb.1: I likely won't be posting anything for a couple of days. First time ever I won't be in the line-up at the starting gate. *sob* But something will emerge in good time. 😉
UPDATE Feb 11: Finally on board, and on track now with five lyrics. I won't promise myself anything, but will remain open to the possibility of a couple more visits from the Muse.
DISCLAIMER: Any lyric I post is always a rough draft. It is likely to be revised/rewritten later. Therefore, collaboration songs during FAWM should not be considered official joint works, or posted outside of the FAWM site. Unless otherwise agreed - and I AM open to post-FAWM possibilities 😀 - contributions will be individually owned. This means that each party can use his/her own specific creative contribution for other purposes once FAWM is over.
Please always ask first if you'd like to collaborate. There's a possibility a collaboration is already being arranged with someone else. I generally try to mention this in my liner notes, but - in the frenzy that is FAWM - I occasionally forget.
About CRITIQUE: No, thank you. 😉 Everything I post is a first draft. I'm generally aware of what changes need to be made post-FAWM. Also, for constructive critique I post my lyrics to designated songwriting forums such as musesongwriters.com.

Hey donna! How's it going?
Thanks for your kind feedback on “Guns”. Appreciate you taking the time.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on "While At Home You Know They Were Dancing"... This song is probably most emblematic of my attitudes...
Thank you very much for your kind words on "Blood On Their Hands."
Thanks for your kind comments on my song Five Rivers.
Where can I listen to the album you mention in your bio?
Thanks again for taking he time to listen
Thanks, Donna for your suggestion on my lyric See Me For Who I Am...I think cutting it down is a good idea. Appreciate it!
Thank you for listening Donna! I really appreciate it. 😀
and thanks for your comments on sea song
thanks for explaining.
Thanks for listening to my blues song! I was actually influenced by a Happy Flowers song and The Driving Stupid, a one-hit wonder from the mid sixties. Gonna have to go check out those musical songs now...
Thanks for the kind words for “Dance With Me Lady” it very nearly didn’t survive the trash can. Changed the chorus and I liked it enough to include it.
Thank you 😀 The skirmishes seem to be the only thing getting me on the stick to write anything so far! They're fun and I think I kind of like the adrenaline of having to just do it in that time frame 😉
Thanks for listening/commenting Donna! Hope we get the chance to do at least one collab this FAWM.
So glad you like my new songs. I am not a believer myself, but I was that night
Thanks, please give him my best. When I joined FAWM six years ago I knew nothing about writing a song and threw out thoughts on a page - the comments you and Wyatt gave me that year in particular were very helpful and instructive. Forever grateful!
Wow Donna! What an amazing story and experience! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Donna, for your kind comments on Like Her. I've posted a few conventional lyrics but I'm trying to stretch myself. However, I think maybe the unconventional lyrics pose such a challenge to the musicians that they won't make it into music. Still, we must march on!
Hi Donna! Looking forward to my first year FAWM'ing here. I would like to join a skirmish! Looks fun.
I like to keep things interesting, for sure.
Hi Donna 😁 So glad to see you back!! Looking forward to lots of fun in the sandbox!
Hi Donna - sorry, I'm not FAWMing this month - but best wishes to you!
Hey SuperSkirmish (Feb 2/3) host! I just posted my skirmish notice so if you want to use it feel free to,
