Bio

I'm Debs, and this is my sixth FAWM. My claim to fame is being in the only person in the world to meet all the members of SugarKrew (@sugarcrew). I am a High Fructose Corn Syrup Girl (@hfcsgirls) and lucky to live near quite a few local FAWMers (@fawmto). If you happened to live near Toronto, or are coming through on a visit, be sure to let us know! We'd love to meet you!

I'm in a geeky musical duo with @errol and the illustrious @erikdidriksen has just finished mixing our first CD, which we hope to release in March. Sometimes we post things on @debsanderrol.

My unofficial goal this FAWM is to be (vocally/thematically?) bold and challenge myself with chords that are a slightly more than basic. Constructive feedback is welcome, because it'll make me better, I hope

Here's what's truly funny about the Kaossilator song. I told Helen I loved the ending cause of what it reminded me of, and she thought I was talking about a toy too, but I really wasn't. I just thought it sounded very climatic.

Hi debs, Yea it's how I think our hooks come to us. From somewhere we've been, or somewhere we wish we could be in life, and everything in between.I just realized I rhymed heart with heart,(writing too fast) in the chorus tho a singer might pull it off changin' up the sound a bit, I think I best find another line with a near rhyme. I was afraid to use "ghost writer at first cause there's that incredible ghost rider song out there back a ways but I didn't wanna call it a muse, sounded to tacky! Thank you for your nice comment!

Hi Debs, It would be awesome to hear you do this song! Young sounding,meaning age appropriate sound for the lyric, like the girl is a teenager, you've got that young sound, I love your voice. I think the bridge works for the song but I thought maybe the sudden aging might not work, I posted it for feedback on a couple sites and it seemed to work for the folks there, so for the sake of time and too many projects, I'll leave it alone. My lady ... thank you for allowing the love to flow freely between our families But I do have to agree that "shirts" would be a good idea. I played in a band a few years and got to participate while the "Girls Gone Wild" crew were in attendance. It got pretty crazy and my wife still has a sore spot on that little bitty tiny and totally insignificant note (and the fact that I filled my inner minds eye with only thoughts and visions of her during the event seems to not sway her feelings on the matter in the slightest).

Debs, just a note- I'm not sure how long four days is with the timezones and all, but I might need a day extra because I spent the weekend wrestling with a recalcitrant mussel instead of, well, songwriting. Am on it now, but recording time is extremely limited today and I'ma need a tomorrow too. Are you the person to ask about this?

Anna is 4, and as weird and creative a kid as I ever could have hoped for. If I have my way she'll grace us with vocals later on, but she's a bit of a shrinking violet so I'll have to get her caught up in the project first.

Thanks! The doubling of the vocal with the piano is just a byproduct of my weak singing voice. It's there so I can sing the tune. Even then, I have to fix it up in post! Just left it in the final mix 'cause it backs me up...
