Artist Bio

Influences:   Phish, Grateful Dead, Santana, Neil Young, The Who, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, David Brubeck, David Hulse, Bill Evans, Frank Zappa, Wide Mouth Mason, Sean Brennan

Ah, the yearly "I don't know what to put in my bio" time. About me? Nah, that's boring. About my music? Well, you can find it all on my website, or you can go to to listen to and read about my rock opera!

What about my goals for this FAWM. Well, I'm sure you have all heard way too much of my "singing", so I'll help you save your ears this year. I aim to do zero singing and write zero lyrics. I will still collaborate with others who write lyrics, but they'll have to either sing them or find someone else to do so!

I've been listening to a lot of Frank Zappa recently, so expect some influences from him seeping into my music. I've also been thinking a little bit more classically minded, so there might be some of that. Who knows. The only certainty is there will be guitar and piano. Can't say much about anything else.

I hope you enjoy your stay on my profile, and if you like what you hear, I'm always open to collab!

Happy FAWMing!

Hi Andy 😀 I have added you to The Road To Nowhere as requested.
Would you like me to write a bridge ?
There are some structure notes in the 'liner notes' 😀

It's weird for me playing that sort of music, so... yeah. But I like doing it! Thanks for listening to the rock jam!

  • @sync  Feb 22

FYI - your last comment must've gone over the char limit. It ends mid-word...

  • @sync  Feb 20

Andrew, I thought the composition on your rock opera was awesome! I like the story idea, but it seemed to end kind of abruptly. I have some ideas on naming things and such. Lemme know if you'd like to hear them. Thanks for sharing!

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 20

You are very welcome Andrew. I just loved what I heard.

  • @sync  Feb 20

Thanks for your interest in my music! I'm listening to your opera now. Is the 4th stanza in the first song supposed to be the girl talking?

  • @woody Feb 2017

You are very perceptive! I've been furiously studying Stardust, Georgia on my Mind, and a few others in a Hoagie frenzy lately. Reading bios. Last thing I was doing before those skirmishes was working out the bridge to "Heart and Soul" . He really works some genius chord changes. Those songs are very hard to learn into performance level, but so very rewarding. And then there's like Lazy Bones, which practically plays itself.

Thanks for your comment on You and Me and I'm glad you liked it 😀

  • @jodv  Feb 2017

Dude, thank you so much. I can't express how flattered and humbled I am to receive your comments on Ignis Fatuus and to know that you enjoyed it enough to play it on repeat is unquestionably the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me about any music I've written. The song started out as a jumble of ideas and, honestly, I was worried that the meandering structure and feedback soundscape in the middle was too "out there".

  • @yam655  Feb 2017

Thanks for the comment on "Celebrate Yourself." It turns out I accidentally uploaded a demo that was missing the vocal component. That's been corrected. (If you're interested.)

  • @yam655  Feb 2017

Yes, there is one "Cellar Door" stretching the entire track. 😀

  • @seanbrennan  Feb 2017

No sweat - I know you'll tell it to me straight some other time. 😝

I have been listening to yours as they're posted (though I haven't heard "Morning Meadow" yet), but I held off on Zong-busting them because I know sometimes people overlook 1-comment songs in favor of Zongs, and we gotta get some fresh ears hearing that Deadhead sound! But now I have to catch up on my duties too. Cheers!

  • @mungus  Feb 2017

Hey! Thanks for commenting on my track 'where you dedicated it all,' sounds like you gave it a really good listen and I appreciate that, looking forward to listening through all of your tracks!

  • @juoppis  Feb 2017

Na na na na na! Thanks! 😀

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2017

Thanks for more kind comments. Sadly, my stupid headache hurts even more when I lie down, so ... time to do more FAWM listening at gentle volumes, I guess....

  • @metalfoot  Feb 2017

Thanks for the singalong with Beneficial!

  • @ajna1960  Feb 2017

Ohh ta for the wonderful zombie dolphin comments !!!!!

    Hi Andrew! Happy FAWM!!!

  • @janeg  Jan 2017

Welcome to Toronto! Lots of Fawmers here. If you happen to also be a fantasy or science fiction fan, there is a strong community here for that too, with a lot of FAWM overlap. Let me know if you want more info.

  • @musicsongwriter Jan 2017

Hi Andrew, hope you'll be back.
    Happy and productive February.

Get ready for my diss track about how sweaters are still better than shorts.
