Bio

I have always loved music, but it was 50/90 in 2010 that pushed me to actually write it! I only did a couple that first time. You were all so encouraging that I came back and was a "winner" in FAWM and 50/90 last year. I'm looking forward to some colabs, and listening to what you all create too!

Theme for 2012...things that bring me joy. You're going to learn more about me than maybe you wanted to know. It is fun for me to focus on such things though!

Hey Girl ... I think I have a lyric that you would be interested in. I didn't see your email on your profile here ... my email is "dclanloch@gmail.com". It's a lyric I wrote last year, but it is designed for a female singer with a deep southern accent. Here's a link to the lyric: https://docs.google.com/document/d/14etcHbBmD8lUug1342Ifn9DrBHp-LJS389xuHt_pSTE/edit# I think your style and voice would be wonderful for this one smile give me a hit back if you're interested

Thanks for the nice comment on my and Donna's (Donna's and my?) song.
  • wobbiewobbit 2 months ago
thanks for your message and congratulations on completing FAWM
  •  sapient 2 months ago
I have so enjoyed working through your songs this morning. First day of a short holiday, laptop on my knees, listening to FAWM tunes in bed. This is the life!

You have made me smile this morning. Thank you. big_smile
  •  errol 2 months ago
Yes, your movie choices did point to your age. I was born in the early 70's, my wife in the late late 60's. big_smile

When I say I was born in the 70's and my wife was born in the 60's... she doesn't like that. ;D
  •  errol 2 months ago
Oh! MORE family? That's great! And I can't give him a listen... all his songs are locked. *LAUGH*

And yes... I guess I do reveal a lot in my comments... don't I. big_smile
  •  errol 2 months ago
And we're done! HUZZAH! big_smile Thanks Darci! big_smile
  •  duaneclancy 2 months ago
I think I just wrote the Bob Seger version instead of the Bubba version ... I'll do a little video and let you check it out ... I'll give you an up when I get it done. These songs go in the direction they want to, instead of the direction I was gonna send them
  •  errol 2 months ago
btw, I'm not done commenting, need to go visit wife for lunch (and work has been hectic) big_smile
  •  duaneclancy 2 months ago
And I to you sis ... out of all the versions that have been made, yours was the only one my wife's parents liked ... they are big bluegrass fans and we always visit Silver Dollar City at Branson Mo together during the Bluegrass and Barb-b-que festival every year
  •  duaneclancy 2 months ago
I think the soundclick ratings board only allows one artist/song per genre on the board at a time ... I've changed the genre to see if I can generate a few more hits ... I know the numbers don't really mean anything, but it is kind of cool smile
  •  iocanepower 2 months ago
Thanks for the listen, Darci! smile
  •  downburst 2 months ago
Ha, that's great. I made myself laugh too, but that often happens and nobody else gets it ("sorry, my jokes suck..." (taking it too far now)).
  •  valeriecox 2 months ago
Thanks for checking out my little tune with Das Binky.
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
    Leave it with me... wink
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
Oh... and I've just updated the demo for Pollyanna's Playhouse. wink

I wasn't 100% happy with my vocals, so I redid them about ten minutes ago. smile
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
Darci - just give me a shout if you'd like me to work up a bass line for you... wink
  •  toms 2 months ago
Thank you for the listen & comments, & congrats on a great win!!!!
  • arthurrossi 2 months ago
And again I am indebted to you... Thank you so much for your wonderful words...
  •  duaneclancy 2 months ago
I can't wait for the bandcamp release of the "Dog's Messin' With A Skunk Again" Too ... you know I'm gonna get a copy smile
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
It was fun sharing with you too, dear Darci. smile

    Same again next year? big_smile
  • folkguy 2 months ago
Love it, thanks Darcistrutt, I'll add it on.
  • musicjoy 2 months ago
Thanks so much for the kind feedback on a couple of my songs. I appreciate that. And wow you have done 16 songs - congrats! I'll proabably make 8 by tomorrow. This was my first time trying this, so a good warm up for next year I suppose. Great music here and I wish you the best!
  •  dreamscuba 2 months ago
Thanks very much for your comments on "FEAR". Very much appreciated. @johncrossman really brought this to life with his lyrics and vocals.
    Congratulations on winning.
  •  thetau 2 months ago
Actually Starlight is my half point. I really need a full point. I don't think I'll be able to do that, without having a lot more fun.
  • alexfamous 2 months ago
Thanks Darci! I've been practicing my lyrical writing more often. Seeing how much emotion and juice i can squeeze out of words within a given time frame. I believe this exercise is definitely helping me.
  •  duaneclancy 2 months ago
Thanks @darcistrutt ... I've had a great time here ... on all the other sites I've been on I get limited really quickly by all the rules, and I've gotten a lot of negative feedback by individuals who seem to be really snobbish and stuck on themselves ... everyone on this site has been very supportive, friendly, willing to help, and just all around fun people to work with ... that's an awesome collection of positive attributes to find all in one place
  •  thetau 2 months ago
    14 is the magic number
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
I wondered about NSFW too... but I don't "think" there's anything that would warrant it really. Unless you count my singing! big_smile

I loved what I heard and I'm coming back for more.

Got myself an empty house tonight, so I'll be taking a stab at the vocals... wink
  •  thetau 2 months ago
If you still have an interest in doing the vocals on "Ghost Dance," send me a note by email it's on my profile. We can talk
  •  johncrossman 2 months ago
Yeah, you're right about catcore, it was just a free association thing that popped into my head. I'm glad you have such inspirational pets!
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
Music written and recorded, Darci! big_smile

I'm just waiting for an empty house and daylight hours so I can take a stab at the vocals. wink

Have you got a title in mind?
  •  musicsongwriter 2 months ago
Thank you for your comment Darci, I'm okay now smile
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
I'm already "hearing" it as a rocky, possibly metal track, Darci... wink

I can't wait to get home now! big_smile
  •  dragondreams 2 months ago
Darci! That wine must have been *very* heavily fortified! lol

Got the lyrics. Just biding my time in the office until I can get home and fire up the noise machine... wink

I'm really enjoying the extra company on my board smile I was gettin' all lonely over there by myself ... now I have so many new friends ... I'm gonna hug em and squeeze em and call em all by little pet names ...

Thanks so much for listening to the song!

Hey, I am sorry if I am bothering you... but since you left a wonderful comment on my lyrics "Yes, I leave you" I thought you might would like to listen to it, once when it is put to music... Alex did it fantastically and caught the feeling in a wonderful way... If you like, please, allow me to invite you to give a listen to it...

On my latest entry, I always have at least a head tune but not sure how it'd work for a female vocal.
If you hear something, you could e me a rough version or I could do likewise I guess ,but I'd hardly thought about the tune yet--It's just that I couldn't write a lick without SOME kind of rhythm in my head
  •  wyatt 2 months ago
On Twelve Dozen Roses--In the book, she was a black servant to a white-well--to --do, man in south Africa when fraternization between the races was strictly forbidden ,but they were in love. Yeah, a very sad story

Hi Darci! Glad you're here on FAWM! I'm trying to be productive as much as I can while I'm home from work trips. If I can muscle through these next 2 weeks, I might actually win! smile You're doing pretty well yourself! I'll be back to listen!

Huzzah! Happy anniversary too! smile do anything fun ?
  • kiwafruit 3 months ago
Thanks for the comment love on "Midnight Rain" smile I'm loving the funky jazzy chords at the moment, it's all @janeukey's fault wink
  •  thetau 3 months ago
Thanks for skulking around after midnight over my pad. Seems that some of my zongs don't remain so for long. As for the lyrical blending re: Ghost Dance, I do believe it would best be represented by one of those female vocal harmonies that have both those exquisite highs and those beautiful vibrant lows that one rarely hears. You know. Like you. Besides my female voice somehow doesn't cut the mustard.
  •  musicsongwriter 3 months ago
Thank you Darci. Sorry your voice is not back yet, to me it sounds wonderful!!! Hope you feel better soon smile
  •  musicsongwriter 3 months ago

Thanks for the comment on my song "Through Distant Lands" - I'm glad I managed to evoke something with it. I was a little scared about the whole pentatonic thing at first...
  •  thetau 3 months ago
Earlier, @darcistrutt said "Sounds like you have a fun musical family!!"
I made it all up actually, though my mother was from Springfield MO. But I was an Oky in an earlier life. Just about every one in the valley (actually it was more of a hill than a valley, but that's what they called it) played or sang. And definitely the front porch was the place to do it. Some people even played music there.
