Artist Bio

Influences:   Folk, Indie, Pop, Gospel. Music of life. I listen to an eclectic mix. Love strong female singer/songwriters. Dar Williams, Reba McIntyre, Abigail Washburn, Indigo Girls, Pink, Beyoncé, and many of you! Beth DeSombre and Becky Warren's music were introduced to me through FAWM.

This is my third FAWM. I'm not too concerned about hitting the 14 song mark this time around (I've done it both years). I know I can, but it's going to be a busy month. I've got more on my plate this year and a lot less angst to work through. We'll see.

I am open to collaboration. Your work belongs to you, and my lyrics/vocals belong to me. I will respect your work and give you credit for what you have done.

  • @gummunq Mar 7

Hello! Please send me details on FOP potluck for this Saturday! @antlion and i would like to go!

  • @markg  Mar 5

Thanks for your recent comment, Colleen, and your encouragement in my first FAWM year. Looking forward to meeting you and the other New England writers soon.

  • @mmmmarcus  Mar 3

Thank you very much for the comment on "Killer"! Glad you liked it!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 27

    Great. Thanks!

  • @goldarrow  Feb 27

Thanks for the comments to my Still Drive Me Crazy (30's Jazz), much appreciated. I finally posted a demo if interested in listening. Congrats on exceeding 14! Thanks,

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 26

Hi Colleen! Having difficulty finding you on either email or Facebook to keep in touch about the FAWM-over Party. Recommendations? Thanks!

  • @phlecksy  Feb 21

Hi @colgoo , just uploaded our collaboration, hope you like it!

  • @downfallroad  Feb 21

Thank you for listening to Song of the Sirens! Congratulations on reaching 14 songs! \m/

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 21

I hear that about being too lazy to fix these rough recording for FAWM 😉 I'm saving those efforts for "real" recordings later (that's what I'm telling myself, at least). I only wish I was capturing sound as well as you are.

  • @s7even Feb 21

Thank you so much for your kind words and help along the way. this has been such an amazing experience. I never want it to end. Lol

  • @moonraccoon  Feb 20

I've never had anyone say they'd like to play one of my songs before. I would be honoured if you did. And if you capture it, I'd love to hear it sometime. @stephenwordsmith's words were truly an inspiration.

  • @wacha  Feb 20

Thank you for your kind words on "Damaged", it's a dark an painful song for sure but I like how @crisp1 left it on positive note. There is some hope at the end there.

  • @wacha  Feb 20

Doug's lyrics are the best, I'm always glad when he has something for me. Thank you for your kind words on the "I'm Okay With That".

  • @phlecksy  Feb 20

Hi Colleen, glad to hear it. Btw I sent you a mail yesterday, let me know if you didn't get it. No particular content, it was just so you'd have my email (title something like 'phlecksy from FAWM here'.

  • @s7even Feb 20

Hello! Stopping in to let you know that “backroads” has a demo up. Hope you like it.

  • @phlecksy  Feb 19

Hi Colleen, I just got a message from @kaylagonzalez120 offering to do a vocal on the same tune... I said as far as I'm concerned that would be great. Now I think it would have been more polite to check with you first, so apologies about that. What do you think? For me it would just add to the fun and interest, but yeah, I definitely think I should have checked first... hmm.

  • @riverbear14 Feb 19

    Thank you so much!

  • @crisp1  Feb 19

Thanks for your thoughtful comment on Coat of Dust, Colleen. Some of our creations just speak to us more than others. I really like the way you interpreted the verses versus the chorus. I hadn't even thought of it that way.

  • @phlecksy  Feb 18

Hi again Colleen, thanks, I'll mail you then - I'll probably leave it till tomorrow as I need to get to sleep, work tomorrow (European time here)...
Oh by the way, I'll have to be done with it by next Saturday, as I'm going to be away from home from Sunday till after the end of the month, and hoping not to take my laptop.
And thanks *so* much for giving my 'Ambient party' thing some kindness! At last! Glad you liked the little joke too.
Looking forward to your words and singing! (Take no notice of the current title, obviously, I just had to call it something.)

  • @phlecksy  Feb 18

Hi, Colleen! Just responding to your post on my page...

You have a really nice voice, it would be great to have it on my tune! The track is fairly busy but I'd be fine with mixing some of the instruments lower or cutting parts out altogether to give you some space if you like.
As for lyrics... as I said in my 'classified ad' thing, I'm totally easy about that side. In fact honestly, I'd prefer if you brought your own because first it's more interesting as a collaboration and second, it's easier for me! 😀 That said, if you're prepared to go to the trouble of recording for it, I'm certainly willing to dredge something up...
This is already getting long and I have more questions - is there some way to do one-to-one communication through FAWM?
Anyway, hope we can do it!

  • @oneslowtyper  Feb 18

Congrats on hitting 14, Colleen! ...and you still have 10 days in the bank!

  • @s7even Feb 18

    Thank you! Getting better!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 17

Thanks very much for taking the time to type those kind words on 'Uke it Out, Colleen. With your lyrical prowess I particularly appreciate the compliment there!

  • @fonte  Feb 17

Thank you for the comment on the skirmish song! Much appreciated. I only sing like that cos there's people next door and I'm a bit self conscious 😉

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Ahh... sweet and tender... always love your gorgeous vocals and your musical sensibilty. Thank you, Colleen!!!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Say what??? You are amazing! Done!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

    Yea!!! Thank you!!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Would this one interest you? If not that is fine - may not be a topic you are interested in but thought your musical sensibilty and compassion would lovely

  • @s7even Feb 16

Thank you so much for all of your help with FAWM. It’s brought me way more joy than I could have ever expected. Also thank you for your suggestion on “I talk to God” i suggested a second thought on each of those areas for him. I’ll let you know when it’s finished.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 16

I thought you would never ask ... I was feeling neglected! Will send you some ideas to consider!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 16

Hi, thanks for checking out Not Anymore. glad you liked the story telling and mando/guitar interplay.

  • @tunecat  Feb 15

Thanks for comments on the lyric of Just Perfection: it's also a collab but appears later (unintentionally of course).. with an incredible and surprising rendition.

  • @tunecat  Feb 15

Hi there. Thanks so much on commenting on my lyric "Piano" last week. I put a track together for it and have just posted. Its not what I originally had in mind, but I'm pretty pleased with it! You said to let you know- and of course I'd be delighted to hear what you think!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 15

Thanks and good feedback on outro! Appreciated!

  • @kaylagonzalez120 Feb 15

Thank you for your advice on Back in The Hole! Would you be interested in reading what I wrote for a 2nd verse?

  • @kristi  Feb 15

Thank you for your detailed comments on my lyric, See Me For Who I's great to hear feedback on that metering!

  • @bachelorb  Feb 14

Ha!!!! Not 5 minutes ago she cut the pizzas into hearts

  • @crisp1  Feb 14

You are always welcome to use any of my lyrics, Colleen. I know the result will be a great song! I'm glad you're enjoying your collaborations this FAWM. Thanks again for Everything!

  • @bachelorb  Feb 14

You win!! I’m celebrating Valentines Day by taking the evening off Fawm to make frozen pizza and annoy my wife.... I’m sure she’ll appreciate it......

  • @siebass  Feb 14

No problem at all. I was excited to work on the reverse poem!

  • @benjo  Feb 13

Hey thank you for your great feedback on my lyric, levitate
sorry if you missunderstand some parts of it, the spec of dust and the paintbrush are used in different contexts, he treated her like a spec of dust meaning insignificant to him, and the paintbrush means like you put your names on a wall, well she painted over it in other words like rubbing it out, i do hope this helps you, thank you so much for taking the time it means so much to me

  • @benjo  Feb 13

Hey thank you so much for your very kind words on my lyric
and thank you so much for pointing out the typo where it said especially an night and should have said especially at night cant believe i missed that god bless you thank you, tony

  • @andybalham Feb 12

Thanks for the comment on 'Cataracts'. The humour is very much tongue-in-cheek and you are so right about the surgery. It's simply miraculous.

  • @mleverette  Feb 12

@colgoo Thanks for your comment on Win This War. 😀 I loved your collab with mmmmarcus. I need to go listen to your other songs!

  • @s7even Feb 12

I’m not sure how this works so I’m just making sure you see that I would love to get together with that song. Thank you for your interest.

  • @seemanski  Feb 11

Thanks for all of your lovely comments, much appreciated 😀

  • @s7even Feb 11

Hello! Thank you for reaching out. I am having a good time. A bit nervous since I’m so new to writing and playing but I’ve surprised myself and stayed on track so far. I’d love to collaborate. Let me know if you have anything in mind. Be blessed.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 11

I would like to thank you for your that kind words as well as for the lyrical suggestion, I like it much better than that one that was before and have already changed it... Thank you so much!

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 11

Haha, thank you very much for the comment on Sushi Sunday! It really turned out differently than I had in mind, writing that first riff. I didn't want to write another stereotypical thrash metal lyric, and I do love sushi (although maybe I try to be slightly more polite in reality).

And sure I write bad songs all days, haha. It's crazy though, usually I have one in maybe 20 or 30 songs "write themselves", meaning all goes super fast with writing and arrangement. Now, every single song so far during FAWM has been like that. It all falls into place so quickly, and I'm just having the time of my life writing new music. And hey, thanks a million for the collab!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 11

Oh my goodness Dupletarion Warrior you are AWESOME!! You took the time to write 200 comments and listen to all those songs! Thanks for your hefty contribution to our community. You have 200 thank you’s from your fellow FAWMers and from me! Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @cleanshoes Feb 11

Thank you! I agree fiddle would be a great addition. In answer to your question, the song is based on personal experience.

  • @suziewithaz  Feb 10

Thanks for the review. Not sure about a collab, I have a melody worked out. Thinking seriously about it.

  • @aprilm  Feb 10

Thanks for checking out and trippin' out on Purple Storm! Weirdest song I've ever done!

  • @haim  Feb 10

Haha thanks for your comment on my last skirmish "took the bait". sorry you had to listen to that... but your words are really nice I feel good after reading them, you always know how to say the right words. thank you,

  • @leah0k  Feb 10

Thank you! I guess I found the kitten herding subject especially inspiring ha ha! You never know when it will strike 😝

  • @seemanski  Feb 10

Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot 😀

  • @zecoop  Feb 10

Right... Appendix is TOTALLY unecessary. I should have gotten rid of it LONG ago. I'm just an appendix hoarder, lol. 😉
    Thanks so much for listening.

  • @markg  Feb 10

Thanks for your comments on Someday. You really got what I was trying to imply. This is my first FAWM. The submissions are so diverse--I find myself loving styles like electronica I don't normally follow. Lots of quality. And the comments are so supportive. I'm glad I heard about FAWM!

  • @wistah  Feb 10

Thank you so much for all of your kind words on my songs. I really appreciate it! Hope to see you soon 😀

  • @cleanshoes Feb 10

Thank you so very much for your comments and encouragement!

  • @markg  Feb 10

That was an awesome collaboration On the Other Side of the World!

  • @riverbear14 Feb 9

Thank you! I will give that some thought. I think you are right, by the way

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 9

Thank you for the comment on the duett!
And thanks for the collab too, looking forward to wrapping it up!

  • @siebass  Feb 9

I sent you an email re: our random collab; looking forward to working with you!

  • @wacha  Feb 9

Thank you for your kind words on "Start Again", I wanted to have more than just vocals and guitar but didn't want to clutter the song up with too much stuff.

  • @mjayp Feb 9

One of your favourites?!? High praise indeed. Thank you so much for the lovely complement!

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 9

Thanks for the kind comment on mine and @mmmmarcus duett. Yes it was absolutely awesome and fun.

  • @metalfoot  Feb 9

Thanks for your comment on "My Friend"! (I need to listen to some of your stuff now!)

  • @jyllian Feb 9

Hey Col - thanks for your comments. I tried recording the I Remember - check it out if you get a chance and tell me what you think. I'll be getting to more of yours!

  • @kalinasilverman Feb 8

  • @scubed  Feb 8

Thank you so much for your lovely comment on "The Bluebird and the Crow"! 😀

  • @markg  Feb 8

Thanks for the comments on my song Willie's Guitar. I just added the Soundcloud link if you'd like to hear it. I clicked Watch to follow your lastest songs.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 7

I would like to thank you so much for the wonderful song you made for "One of those who never say goodbye". Such a tender, beautiful melody and so gorgeously presented... Your vocal delivery is awesome and suits the atmosphere here perfectly... Thank you so much, I am very, very happy how it túrned out...!

  • @judypie  Feb 7

Thank you so much for your kind comments!

  • @johnhudome  Feb 7

Thanks for your nice comments on Springtime. I hope to listen to more of your songs over the next days.

  • @arthurrossi Feb 7

Hey! Thanks so much for your generous comment on "One of those who never say goodbye" as well as for being willing to give it a try... Of course, you can alter any words and parts the way you like...

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 6

Thank you so much for all the supportive comments! Glad you liked the latest track!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 6

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Here’s your badge. Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @jaegerin  Feb 6

Thanks for your lovely comments, I appreciate them!
Oh and by the way "Nine Years Dad" was earworming me today while I was out and about. I'd say that makes it a success!

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 6

I saw you on someone else’s comment and you mentioned “ stacking cup percussion”...may I ask, what is that??

  • @ggallagher Feb 6

Thanks for the feedback on Curtain Falls. I am very proud of the work I've done on it and now I have a song that was written for guitar that I can sing at open mics and not lug the piano sometimes (yay). I've had my guitars for years but I've neglected them. I hung them on the walls when I moved them to my current place so that it'd be easier to take them down and play them. Anyway so my acoustic has a janked Low E string (a ringy buzz) so I decided to try to record it on my electric. I wasn't sure how much of it was being out of tune and how much was less experience on guitar. Anyway yay progress!

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 5

Oh, and while I would love to see USA some day I think it's unlikely I'd be going there anytime soon performing. But thank you so much for the compliments 😀 I'm only performing around Finland or Sweden now, and not that much live stuff these days unfortunately. Would love to play more live, but touring isn't really possible (two kids to take care of here).

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 5

Thank you so much for all the comments on my tracks! I'm humbled! I am still having your version of "Cause It's Been Nine Years "Dad" " going around in my head, wow that was such a heartfelt performance! You've got some serious talent.

Sure I'd be up for some collab, let's see if we can make something happen! First time FAWMer here so still a bit green on how the collabs works around here.

  • @ggallagher Feb 5

So awesome talking about faith journeys. My best friend from high school is Mormon and I know the common joke about UCC amongst UU's is it stands for Unitarians Considering Christ 😉

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 5

Thank you Colleen for your amazing comment on my lyrics. It was so interesting to read! So much food for thoughts. I unexpectadly for myself composed music to it so it's uploaded, without the vocals, just as an instrumental.

  • @haim  Feb 5

Hi thank you for the sweet comments. I'll listen to the rest of your songs tomorrow relaxed. I think I got your email but still haven't listened to the song I was overwhelmed by the beginning. I'll give everything time tomorrow.

  • @sbs2018 Feb 5

Thanks for your comment on "Tormented Soul" - would love to hear what you're hearing and what lyrics should be fixed. I threw them down and haven't gone beyond that.

  • @bradbrubaker  Feb 5

Good to hear you don't agree with the lyrics to "The Ugly Platypus." That is my hope when singing them. 😀

  • @tamsnumber4 Feb 5

Aww, I probably can't perform "You're Indigo" ever, it involves five vocal tracks alone and wouldn't be very effective, I think it is a production piece, I don't think it will sound very good without all of the reverb and extra voices, but thank you so much for listening and caring so much, it really boosts my confidence but makes me miss you more!

  • @scubed  Feb 4

Thanks so much for your lovely comment on "Under the High Desert Moon"! Glad you enjoyed doing the "anti" song. 😀

  • @aprilm  Feb 4

Thanks for listening to If You Want Him! So happy you enjoyed it. I enjoyed singing it! (and writing it lol)

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 4

hank you for stopping by and commenting on my songs.

  • @jorh Feb 3

Sounds good to me! Thanks for your encouragement and kind words, it’s spurring me on to keeping writing and improving as fawm progresses

  • @jorh Feb 3

Thanks, i shall look forward to his response. No I am more than happy to wait till it’s uploaded, and hear what I’m are sure will be your great interpretation! Do you want me to add you as a collaborator or would you rather upload it separately?

  • @jorh Feb 3

Thanks for takijg the time to work on a sketch, I definetly want to collaborate on this with you. I am more than happy for us to send this to @haim if he would be interested in the collobaration and you feel he could get the sound you have envisioned! I trust your judgement having heard yours and his material, as the melody/music is not something i have much experience with! Likewise if he would prefer not to collaborate, I have no problem with you changing the lyrics to be gender neutral, as it is the message that is the key element! If you wanted me to email you directly I can provide you with my address 😀

  • @haim  Feb 3

Haha I'll try to find time to think about something... I'm wandering these days between happiness and nostalgia so I still don't what direction to take myself. How is it going for you?
