Artist Bio

Influences:   First one I remember...Sly and the Family Stone Since then, in no particular order...David Byrne, Prokofiev, Adrian Belew, Devo, Todd Rundgren, Keith Jarrett, Carlos Santana, Bjork, Jaco Pastorius, The Clash, David Holsinger, Thelonious Monk, Ravel, George Clinton, Jean-Luc Ponty, Miles Davis, Bill Chase, Portishead, Chick Corea Those are probably the most significant and the most obvious in my music.

Michael Michalski, a.k.a. Chasing Andromeda here. I, I am never quite sure what is going to come out of my head. If I hear it, I write it. It usually has synths in it and it often has quite a few layers to it. But it might not have either.

I am starting a new and exciting day gig on Feb. 3, so I will have to be very creative in how I get tracks written. To that end, I have outfitted both my MacBook and my iPod for music production. I will be learning on both as the month goes on and I am anxious to see how I do with the new environment.

I started producing royalty free and licensed tracks last year and the year has been pretty successful, in fact, beyond anything I would have imagined. I conttinue to turn out 2-4 tracks per month for Audiojungle so I have to find time for that as well.. My Soundcloud and YouTube pages have a wide assortment of samples of my work. The Soundcloud site also has my FAWM work from my first three years of participation.

Enjoy and have a great February!

2014 Goals
I am starting a new day gig and will be traveling for much of the month but I think I have set myself up with a good enough travel studio to be effective. We shall see..In the last year I have been focused on writing production music. For FAWM, I am going to try to get back to my funky, electro-acoustic roots. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

UPDATE: Looks like it might be one and done for me this year. I have been in training for certification with the new day gig and the training is brutal. I won't be taking on any offers for collabs due to this. Still going to try to squeeze one more track in before the end of the month.

The new gig has you rather preoccupied, I take it? Just dropping by to let you know that I was thinking about you, my man. Hope all is well.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2014

The excitement here is uproarious! big_smile

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2014

So... I should dig the guys out and tell them to set the controls for the heart of the sixties, do some harvesting and then bounce the results over to you? It'll be a couple of days before they can load their provisions and make the trip... wink

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2014

Well... the CHM have heard about Mr Andromeda's skills and are itching to mayhap collab with said celestial synthesist.

But the kicker is that they converted the main drive from the space-going curry house and ended up with something of a time machine. But one of the dancers got clumsy (too many Kalyani Black Labels is the vicious rumour) and broke the calibration knob. Now it will only journey as far as the sixties and back...

    Still interested?

  • @dragondreams  Feb 2014

    Thank you! big_smile
Here's the deal. I'll go and rake the Massive out from the back room of the Werewolf and Afterbirth and bribe them to do some more if Mr Andromeda gets his stellar finger out and does the same with his synths... wink

Yes, I've heard that, CA. I'm reminded of it if ever I search for mentions of my name in the forums (fora?). Usurper, say I! Until I think, the cabinet probably preceded me, didn't it.. *sigh* Named for a speaker in a cabinet.
