First and foremost I'm a husband and dad but also a multi-instrumentalist and singer. I work on my songwriting craft as others work on their house, their cars or whatnot, it's what I'll do when time allows it. As you can understand, I'm not the greatest around the house. 😉
Cheers for now,
Thanks so much for listening and the insightful comments on my song 'grains of sound '. Cheers 👍
Indeed, exactly my thought. If Lightnin' can do it, so can I!
Haha! We'd have to seriously increase our song per day ratio! I just played piano for 15 minutes - not sure if that helps but it was fun!
Thank you my friend! I'll count you as one of the imaginary audience at the gig 😉 now, will we both manage a third track this month....?
Ok, got it, I had to remove https completely. I hope it works now! Thanks for pointing it out U!
Hey, thank you!
Yes, that was one of the 11 from my “Fishbowl” work over at the other place in Dec, framing out drafts.
I kinda write them to perform more than anything else.
But since I need a track to remember it a year from now I do the best, fast demo I can. Kitchen-sink recordings I like to call them, and have even purchased... heck that last Jack White “acoustic” album was all his studio doodles 😀 good stuff too, well, iffen u like JW 😀 hahhh...
So, again, that you or anyone “really” likes it is good to know.
I did it when not one did...! 😀 so, just love it... !
Hey, thanks for the comments, boostock. Hopefully I’ll get to the music part eventually, but though lyrics come somewhat easily, doing the music takes me considerable time—not as skilled in that arena as I’d like to be. 🙃
Logic Pro X, -- I'll look into it.
-- We sound like on the same page, -- make music, not more work? 😀 hahhh
FYI, ... might find it interesting, don't think we dialogued the eng'g side, so ... ... :
It may sound funny, but what I liked about Adobe Autidion then, 😀 10 years ago, OMG! ... -- that daw, was for me in that is was the most like analogue mixing, very linear, very manual and went to tape/file. (Yes, it's what one knows I guess..., so no diff than the next guy.)
The "new stuff", it makes "that", all of it yet another new hobby in itself... don't need/want one! 😀 hahhh...
I use reverb (and love to fully control it; - slap-back; -
compression; - Hz EQ/dB+-). What else is there? Get a MOOG then 😮 😝
Many times I just dup a section and shift it a few miliseconds one fully L, other fully R... vwah lah, "spacial relief", like sitting in a venue (if using headphones).
-- I control it fully and get what I hear as a "rich" timbre (and can add "reverb" to that too, to get really hollow, etc.) For me, I know what "that" is; fast and cheap, the --xyz branded plugin ...dunno 😀 uNo 😀
I say all that in case I get back about LP X -- again, thank you for the input-feedback.
Thanks for that Pete, -- I am DL'g the Free version as I type this.
I hope my i8 with 64GB is gonna last like my last Samsung. (Got nearly a decade out of that one 😀 hahaha.)
Anyway, --do you have the "free" eval, or the $19 paid for version, and --is it worth it?
-- Remember I was happy with voice recored enhanced on the Samsung... so, a little ambiance (compression and slap-back / reverb) like in your track is fine with me. Not seeking a garageband... that's there preloaded anyway (never bonded with GB, not sure why).
-- The demo's I do, 1-voice/guitar are all done in audacity. The Reverb in it is fairly configurable, --pre-delay with 100% separation creates slap-back L/R, other stuff, real quick and easy. Kind of old school so to speak for a digital daw and for a bounce track.
I've never heard anyone say, "hey, that production in demo is real krappe"... so, figure it's good for now. The only DAW I ever liked was Adobe Audition... --got tire of paying for upgrade 3 OS's back in Windows. Not to much I see yet with my Linux MINT (love my Mint...). So will live with Audacity for the OS stability trade off.
-- UNLESS you have ideas for Linux DAW apps?
Have a great weekend!
Thank you for your comment. Lookin forward to more songs from you.
Thanks for listening and the encouraging response, man. Yeah, Harry was a proper original old dude. He needed some recognition.
Hey Peter, thanks for all the great comments. I don't know any actual finger patterns, just make em up as I go, so I don't know that it has a name. Glad you enjoyed!
Thank you for your kind comment on 'stay'. I will definitely come back to it after FAWM and work around the idea.
Just listened to your first song and was blown away! Can't wait to hear more you are amazing.
You may be envious of my grasp on English, but I’m envious of your instrumental abilities. That’s what holds up demos for me.—I’m a bit rusty with even early guitar skills
Thanks U! Appreciate your efforts and concern!!! I really do! 😉 I'm in a lyrical slowdown right now, the reason probably because I've worked so hard for some time now to get better at it that once I started writing again I ran straight into a wall. Working on it though...hehe, it's all good! 😀
Hey Pete, I'll give you a song so's you can participate if'n you need'n one? 😉 😮
Take one from Dec. and remix, throw some harp, take your last Sun-night skirmish... and write right rite ... but, no pressure.
[Kidding buddy... just glad your around, --gud'nuff!]
Hey S -- 😀 yes... I was feeling that too. Getting it to music, for me is that much harder too if get to close to "poetry" and sound narrative and all-hooks no fish 😝 (You guys eat salt-fish up there right?) Anyway...
Any technical suggestions, feel free to -mentor if so inclined. I know that's tricky online and know it can only be generally, --how that works. Just, say'in, just say'in...
-- Glad lördag, bror 😀
Hi.. a familiar face (though I'm a first timer here)! Looking forward to some good stuff from you 😀
I don't know, what I don't know, yah no? 😝
Hey Pete, she is who you think she is, I sent her over 😀 hahahahaa so funny we all are !!! I'm below your post over there, saying "hey... go say hi..." 😝
Hi Pete. I am who you think I am (I think). Sunday club?
Hi! Good to see you here!
Looking forward to your music!
Hey buddy! I can't wait to hear what you've been doing.
The music world, --it's very small at the top and bottom ... hahhhh, on which side are we? 😝
