My English is good, but it is a second language, and any correction is appreciated. Constructive feedback in general is welcome.

If you comment my songs, I will @name you here when I update the demo etc.: http://fawm.org/forums/thread/3005/. I appreciate comments, but I might not reciprocate. I comment whatever, so do not feel obliged to comment.

TENTATIVE RANKING OF MY OWN SONGS (BEST TO WORST)

********* AAAA (I am very satisfied with these songs) ******************
(*31824) 11. Olive Oil And WorcesterShire (with @nancyrost a.o.) - what, I made this?
(*26885) 7. Greenland (with @johnnycashpoint) - My favorite for a long time.

********* BBBB (I think these songs are OK) ******************
(*31610) 10. Travelling Light (with @petemurphy) - A spur of the moment decision.
(*31987) 12. The End Of Us [I'm Gonna Get Me A Automobile]
- A "feeling bad"-song

********* CCCC (I think these songs are performable) ******************
(*25985) 5. The Final Word - great lyrics, but the melody doesn't work well.

********* DDDD (Under development) ******************
(*25773) 2. (...) Klovnen (The Clown) [in Danish] - Half verse, demo.
(*25785) 3. (...) A Champ With Ambitions - Ready for demo.
(*32719) 14. (%%%) Elephants - I have some notes for this.
(*32878) 15. (%%%) Sliding - awesome spring tune with slide banjo.

********* EEEE (These need a lot of work) ******************
(*25817) 4. Headaches And Handshakes - a bit short.
(*29850) 9. Underground - Instrumental, has some potential.
(*26561) 6. Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road - Stupid funny, read in context.
(*29832) 8. Highly Inappropriate - I can barely listen to this. It was a skirmish.

********* FFFF (Unperformable for some reason) ******************
(*25758) 1. After The Party [incomplete] - Accidents happen.

********* OUTSIDE OF CATEGORIES ******************
(*32585) 13. Just Leave the FAWM Alone (with @mystupidbrother) -
I did not do much for that one, but it made me a WINNER! Yee-haw!

I suggest you rank your songs in your bio, and just copy-paste to the forum thread.

Second year fawmer. I contributed with these to the 2011 fawmpilations: http://fawm.bandcamp.com/track/how-not-to-shower and http://fawm.bandcamp.com/track/squirrels-are-aliens-as-opposed-to-hamsters. These are the original fawm submissions, a goal this year was to produce more final recordings. (Outside Fawm) MOST PROUD OF http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZIGCnBDoDw, a melody for a poem by Thøger Larsen (Danish), and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2nJMgiukSE, Danish lyrics to Freight Train. Co-writing with dead people, you might say, if it didn't sound so gross. I used to perform live for some time in Second Life as "Bong Crescendo". My first live performance in real life was May 2011. My stage fright is a bitch. In the spring of 2010 I snatched some texts from a forum and turned them into my first songs. My ambition is to make a number of world hits. And the first commercial music video from the surface of the moon.

Hey - thanks for the comment! smile
  •  petemurphy 2 months ago
Hi @bong - take any lyrics that you need, from Travelling Light or anything else. I'm happy to help wink
  •  brownium 2 months ago
    I grabbed a slot for the 12 on 26.
  • the3queens 2 months ago
that looks like the right one!
  •  toms 2 months ago
So, which one of us is going to write the song "FAWM is the only thing"? big_smile (Thank you for the listen & comments!)
  • lyrratic 3 months ago
Thanks for the comment! The noises are just because it's a handheld recorder and I'm holding it in one hand while playing the chords with the other, so sometimes I jolt it and it makes noises. Other times I'm accidentally breathing too close to it. big_smile I have a condenser, it's just too much of a hassle to set up for a FAWM demo.

    Thanks again for the input!

Hey ho, just to say grabbed all the takes and will now start work. Lovely guitaring! Couldn't get the tones file for some reason, but I don't think I'll need it. I am going to add some glacial bvs to this, then, in a day or so once I'm done, I'll send you a link to see if you want to add any words or if you think we're done.
  •  plainwhitetoast 3 months ago
Howdy! Thanks for taking much of the wight of organizing the SuperSkirmish. I think you are right about the start time. If we do this again on the last weekend, we should have it timed so the last skirmishes aren't push into Monday in Wellington. Maybe start the first on in Wellington, sometime on Saturday... noon? thinking about keeping it all in the "global weekend" somehow, so all fall on Saturday or Sunday for everyone... if that makes sense
  •  timfatchen 3 months ago
"Fawn" will do, as long as you're not writing "Beige".
  • johnnycashpoint 3 months ago
Cool beans. 72bpm (or 144bpm of that's too slow) would work very well with the beats I'm honing - but fairly flexible if neither of those work for you. I can googledocs via johnny_cashpoint at yahoo dot co dot uk. Looking forward to mechanizing your work smile
  • arthurrossi 3 months ago
Hey, Bong! Nice to see you here! Thanks a lot for the comment. Me, too, I enjoyed our collab a lot. If you find the time and if you like, please, feel free to drop by whenever you like... I also wish you a happy FAWMing!
  •  madthesinger 3 months ago
Happy Fawming to you as well! (:

I'm gonna make it funky to the max, Bong.
  •  toms 3 months ago
Hey, I saw a reference to your book somewhere here, one of these threads...it sounds awesome...never apologize for something like that, that's a serious academic achievement. When I grow up I want to be a serious academic...
  • johnnycashpoint 3 months ago
No problem - I'll fiddle with drum loops 'til you're ready.
  •  toms 3 months ago
Cool - what is the name of the book?
  •  kidd 3 months ago
    Thanks Bong! much appreciated!
  •  chipwithrow 3 months ago
Banjo only a summer instrument? Certainly a campfire instrument.
It's summerlike here pretty much all year, which means I can play banjo outdoors. Which my wife appreciates.
Can't wait to hear some songs from you!
  • johnnycashpoint 3 months ago
Oooh look at all that danish down there! Hi, Mr Bong, re: folktronica - shall I send you some drum loops to play with, and then once you've G'n'G-ed all over it, I can add some sparse electronic backing? Or would you prefer to play another way? I'm fairly easy.
  •  wille 3 months ago
  • explodingmary 3 months ago
Glad you r back, man... what's the theme this year???
  •  ianuarius 3 months ago
Nice to see you again! smile
    Rock Rock On!
  •  wille 3 months ago
    Welcome back!
  • bong 3 months ago
@gslade, yes, definitely, one can always hope, but the prospects are not too good. So far we had only one hour total this winter, whereas during the past two years the snow stayed on for months. @billysea, yeah, rockabilly. I consider it one of my best.
  •  billysea 3 months ago
Listened to The Snow is Back. Has a strong Jerry Lee Lewis vibe going on with it. Lots of fun there : )
  •  gslade 3 months ago
Re: "My best last year: The Snow Is Back Again" -- I listened and I'm guessing you're hoping for a better year this year.
