I really appreciate the comment and the practical advice. It would be a good idea to start the song with that synth riff. The arrangement is kind of a mess since I was trying to make something new out of tracks laid down with different words and a different melody in mind. Maybe we could collaborate someday, though I might not be the best person to work with. In the past, my favorite collaborations have been when I through out some ideas and had a more talented person arrange and record something. Then I would go back and add more of my...uh, whatever it is that I do.

Wow, thank you for the great listen/critique of our geek song "Avast! For Me." You went over the top with great insight.

The vocals are indeed hot. I tend to do that in FAWM, to make sure they aren't buried when I don't mix/remix/master very much. Plus that "FILK" genre is usually mixed that way, it's all about the words for those folks (of which Eric and I have both toured/performed)... but I think I will tame them a bit for version 2.

We will be combing through your feedback and making sure we can check off each thing that can impact us on version 2. Thanks again!

I'd love to hear what you're doing in the EDM mode. Sometimes I think I should try something like that so I wouldn't have to struggle trying to record the sounds I'm making in the world. I laugh when you say your song was sloppy. If I practiced all month and brought in a professional sound engineer I couldn't make it sound that good

Thanks so much, David. If you were the only person who ever heard that song, I would be happy. As it happens, caterwauler left a constructive comment, which prompted me to make the song even better, I think. Sometimes I dare not tinker with a song when it kind of works for me, because I feel that my recordings are delicate piles of shit that somehow sort of work--and if we nudge it a bit, it'll just be a heap of shit. It's hilarious that YOU ask me about that guitar sound. I just about never play the electric, and when I do I just scramble to find a preset that doesn't make me want to throw it all out the window. In this case: Garageband Hot Fuzz

Hey! Thanks for listening and for your comments. I'm pretty new to using pedals, but I've been messing around with the ones in Logic just trying to make things sound a little more interesting. It's definitely a process haha

    Thanks for your kind comments!

  • @rayboneor  Feb 17

Yeah, commenting can be hard sometimes. When I really like a song I don't want to waste any time analyzing it. I always get a little worried when someone comments on some little aspect of the performance. It's like they're scrambling for something nice to say: Hey, that tambourine counter rhythm is really cool. Digging that vibe!! 😀

Gotcha! Thanks for coming to that. I recall it was threatening to rain that day.

  • @owl  Feb 16

oh cool, wait a sec though what is the ESBA? I have no idea which show that was haha
