This fawmer is an old farmer who decided to give up the crops to travel America..... We've settled back down now in Oklahoma to be nearer to family.

Someone once told me I should write a book about my life, so I started out writing snippets of it in song. That has served me well over the last three years.
This year, I think I'm going to branch out a bit and do secular versions of bible stories..... Kind of a "Creed" type of thing..... Not preachy, just positive.....
Everything I do is on a Tascam 4-track tape player and Tascam 312b mixing board. I'm lovin it!!!

Hey man, thanks so much! And thanks for following along with this crazy idea, was really motivating and inspiring actually to have you and a couple other people actually paying attention to the story and everything, it made me feel a little like, 'I better get something up there, people are waiting!' ha! And I really like what you were doing here too, not knowing these bible verses myself so much I"m just approaching them as stories so it was really interesting to think about the morals of them and what they mean through your songs.
Hey also, that 4 track tape we did last year, with your bass line that I sang, "breadcrumbs", was like my favorite thing ever!

  • @zecoop  Feb 26

Glad you liked it... Yea in this family, I went to MSU after living in Michigan since I was 4 but was born in Ohio and raised by that hardcore Buckeye that the song is about. We aren't fans of TTUN 🀣🀣🀣 but do appreciate you listening! It was pretty special for us.

  • @rustyp  Feb 22

Hey Brad, thank you so much for your kind comments on my song "Splinters." Yeah, I didn't want it to be preachie, but I do like to write songs with a message particularly if they speak to me too. πŸ˜€

I've got a few little changes in mind for the song but I'm pretty happy with it. πŸ˜€

  • @eargoggle  Feb 21

Huh, changing drum levels...I'm not sure, is there anything else happening in the mix that could cause that? Like guitars or whatever going up or down? On the 4 track I'm assuming? I'm trying to think of what that could be...sometimes if I bounce tracks a lot and there's different levels at different times it can make something sound louder or softer all of a sudden, but I don't know if that's what you're talking about

  • @eargoggle  Feb 21

Ha! Thanks...I assure you, if you did drop acid and listen to my songs, I would take it as the highest compliment (no pun intended....)....

  • @gemhughs Feb 19

Thanks for the listen & the kind comments on "Me Too".

  • @eargoggle  Feb 19

Hey thanks for binge watching my rock opera so far! Ha! Yeah, I hope I make it to the end too!

  • @rustyp  Feb 16

I thought you were gonna make a joke about my computer crashing. I have had tracks disappear that way. 😞 It builds character! πŸ˜€

  • @frey Feb 16

Just want to thank you for the nice comment on My Velociraptor.. I've had an emotional day & your compliments made me cry. So thank you, Lol.

  • @rustyp  Feb 16

Hey Brad, thanks so much for your comments on my song "must be dreaming."
It was meant as a "not broken up and I know it" song. πŸ˜€
If I woke up and she's not there and I don't remember our last goodbye then we ain't broken up and so I' must be dreaming that she's not there. πŸ˜€
It sounds complicated when I put it like that. πŸ˜€

I used to have an old tascam portastudio 424 MKii
I got rid of it in favor of my computer and sometimes I regret it, but ...... I can do so much with the computer. πŸ˜€

I love playing with that double harmonic scale. Can't chord to it, but I've written songs using it and then tweaked the melody just enough to allow normal chords. It's especially fun on mandolin or tenor. I'd love to play with it on a mandocello, that big deep bass sound.

  • @spinhead  Feb 15

Oh, hey, you mentioned the Chicago tuning. I missed that. No point me using that since I can barely play a 6-string. I need the tuning in 5ths.

Ah, well. I'll save up for one of Wishnevsky's $300 custom wonders.

  • @spinhead  Feb 15

Most helpful. Looks very doable. Does it feel more like a tenor or more like a strange 6-string?

  • @spinhead  Feb 15

Hey, your pretend tenor (pretenor?)β€” did you adjust the string spacing at the nut and bridge? I see lots of junk guitars for dirt cheap and have thought about doing this to have multiple tenors in different tunings.

  • @colgoo  Feb 14

Mmmmmm....frozen pizza. Our tradition is either homemade heart shaped pizza or takeout Chinese!

  • @spinhead  Feb 14

I'm crying a little over your Martin 😞

My brother had a Gretsch Tennessee Rose that was the first guitar I ever really loved. One day it was just gone; he'd sold it for $300 to some guy who was leaving town. He did not, in case it's unclear, sell it to me. Or offer it to me.

  • @colgoo  Feb 14

Thanks for your comment on my sappy love song. My husband is handling the kids while I go watch three of my FAWM friends perform tonight. How is that for romantic? (He is much more romantically expressive than me....so I sorta feel bad ditching him on Valentine’s Day...but not bad enough to miss a great show!!!)

  • @degausser  Feb 14

Thanks so much for your continued listening and for saying such wonderful things. Struggling to get round to listening and commenting but I will get round to it. πŸ˜€

  • @spinhead  Feb 14

My Chicken song was fun. Glad it worked.

Do you still have a tenor?

  • @auditasum Feb 12

This is about 4 days late, but thanks for your additional comment on "FAWM Widow"! I'm honored that you and your wife enjoyed it. I didn't know the lyrics rang true.

  • @jmadison  Feb 10

Thanks for listening to Munchies Delight! The mic setup for the popcorn was pretty simple. I used my cell phone, sitting on a nearby jar. It worked!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 8

Thank you so much for your wonderful words! You are way too kind...

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 7

Hello, I finished the cassette (track 3) and did a tenor uke part.
I have brought it to the post office and so it is on the way to you...

  • @haim  Feb 6

Haha I don't know myself what will be part 2.... (Thanks, it's about your comment on my song "Wishing too much").

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 6

Woo hoo I see you are
In fact I send the tape to you next...

  • @cynthiawolff  Feb 6

are you doing the 4 track cassette challenge ?

  • @zecoop  Feb 6

  • @zecoop  Feb 4

The speaker for the Hammond is down below but the pianorgan sucks the air in by your knees. The thing is tiny too. There's a knee bar to increase volume but the sound actually comes out along the top.

  • @nancyrost  Feb 3

And here's your USPS tracking number! 9505512487088034225039

  • @zecoop  Feb 3

Well, the talky thing I was referring back to was that part in the chili pepper girl... awesome. πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 3

Thanks for checking out my surf tune! Much appreciated!
    "Surf-Folk"?!?
OK, you hooked me, I'm heading in... πŸ˜€

  • @nancyrost  Feb 2

I'm going to send you a tape too! Don't hate me too much either *:-)*

  • @mom23gals  Feb 2

Thanks for listening to Paper Dolls, and for your nice comments. LOL on taking out sardines -- I meant the game, not the stinky fish! πŸ˜€

  • @zecoop  Feb 1

I can send them to you... But if you scroll up in the four track forum to one of my posts there is a hyper link to the Google doc

  • @zecoop  Feb 1

I know that I missed a lot more than that, lol... (but I hit them on previous takes that you can't hear)
    Thanks for the listen!! πŸ˜€
