Bio

I'm an eighteen year old Canadian who, having discovered the fun that can be had from subjecting oneself to demanding creative challenges, has foolhardily committed myself wholeheartedly to them. I've done & won five NaNos, two Screnzys and two FAWMs.

I have paltry instrumental skills and recording equipment, so in the past I've done mostly lyrics only songs with a cappella demos, but I'm going to try and use some easy-music apps to produce something that has semi-coherent music this year.

UPDATE: GarageBand for iPad is the best thing ever!

The highlight of last year's FAWM was when @devin posted a much-improved (with music!) version of my spur of the moment song "Baking Disaster." Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TP1RXXtBKPs

Good luck to everyone!

GaragePad for iPad is an amazing tool for building a great sounding demo quickly, I can't quite believe it only costs £3 here. In terms of fitting percussion to your already made track, provided other parts were recorded to internal metronome it should be straightforward (otherwise quantising and / or re-recording some sections is the order of the day). For your song I'd suggest Smart Drums - Vintage Kit - got a shaker / tambourine / wooden sticks. Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback on "In My Head All the Time"; I appreciate your advice on balancing voice and guitar, that's something I tend to forget to take into consideration.

Thanks for listening to "Born On A Monday." It's not a uke, though, it's a banjo.
