Bio

This is my sixth FAWM, and I can't wait to hear what you have brewing!

Like many of you, my time will be limited this February. I'm aiming for simple, quick, and dirty recordings. If you're up for an uncomplicated collaboration, give me a shout!

Congrats on a great batch of songs Scott!
  •  iocanepower 2 months ago
Thanks for keeping an ear on us this month, Scott! Hope we kept you entertained. smile
  •  sacraficialglam 2 months ago
Amazing FAWM scott. I think this was the most transparent and vulnerable you have allowed yourself to go. Again great work on all levels. So happy to know you in music and friendship.
  •  jake 2 months ago
Congrats on a great fawm Scott! Special thanks for the excellent collab work. You made those songs great!
  •  sacraficialglam 2 months ago
sorry about the explosion...I'll get a rag...thanks man! I may not get 14, but have a set of songs that I really like. As usual I love your work man!
  •  livinginthemusic 2 months ago
So glad to hear your words on Is Ma Li Nu Tian Don. Glad you liked it big_smile I've uploaded some more at last! This time in regular english pretty much, but likely intruiging in other ways smile
  •  sacraficialglam 2 months ago
I demand a heavy dose of clamp..but with colds going around...I wonder if clamp needs a dose of robotussin. You still here bro?
  •  johncrossman 2 months ago
The song went great tonight and I think it was the most talked about song of my set! They chuckled at all the right places and agreed that the lyrics are awesome.
  •  songsville 2 months ago
I just floated away and bobbed on the ceiling when I read your comment -- thanks! It really buoyed me up on day when I was questioning my overall competency as a human being, having just flooded the downstairs bathroom while doing some plumbing ... smile
  •  johncrossman 2 months ago
I do believe I'm going to perform a certain financially sound jazz tune at a songwriter show this Wed. night as I have just tested it's viability in a sample market known as my living room. I ought to to send you my chord/cheat sheet since I just fixed it.
  •  staticcaptain 3 months ago
I read mikedebenham's quote below BEFORE I saw your new profile picture. And it still made perfect sense. How is that?
  •  mikedebenham 3 months ago
In just under two weeks, you've raided Tutankhamun's tomb and grown a robust beard. I feel like an underachiever.
  •  johncrossman 3 months ago
Hooray! It was fun, thanks for trusting me with your top-notch lyric.
  •  devin 3 months ago
big_smile. I *knew* I saw that man somewhere before! That's two movies where he goes to eleven wink
  •  devin 3 months ago
my money is on you being the first to get the joke at the very end big_smile

  •  dragondreams 3 months ago
    Many, many thanks! smile

My head nearly burst into flames reading your comment! lol
  •  johncrossman 3 months ago
Success! I'm familiar with McB's song of inspiration and I find this new lyric to be incredibly tight. I'm bullish on it and will let you know when it reaps some dividends.
  •  johncrossman 3 months ago
Yes, please! Definitely. Hooray! Can you email me, and if you have some thoughts/restrictions, include those (like tempo or if you were thinking instrumental bridge or whatever). If you haven't any, that's cool too, but that way I won't accidentally trample on anything like a rampaging mastodon.
  •  johncrossman 3 months ago
Hm, dare I insinuate myself into your life even more by asking for one of those uncomplicated collab spots you may have open...
  •  jake 3 months ago
Thanks for the song comments and support! I finally feel like I have a handle on the basics of Reaper, so the pressure is only on songwriting now. I'm looking forward to more Autoclamp!
  •  whatsurdamage 3 months ago
Hey, thanks so much for recommending "Soon As I Get You to Myself"! I'm so glad you enjoyed it smile
  •  sacraficialglam 3 months ago

  •  songsville 3 months ago
You made me LOL at the C#bish ... before I learnt myself some music theory a coupla years ago I used to call Dsus2/B 'You know, B ... -ish' so when I slid it up to C# and in a hurry I fell back into ugly old naming habits ... Apparently it's really C# minor 7th no5 (x4x450), anyway yeah glad you like it!
  •  charliecheney 3 months ago
Like iocane, my songs are also odorless.
  •  mikedebenham 3 months ago
"I was thinking bad thoughts about my boring sandwich"... I'd like to be sympathetic to your plight, but after our salty black yeast extract conversation you have no-one to blame but yourself.
  •  billysea 3 months ago
    Thank you Scott.
  •  michaelepic 3 months ago

  • chrishensongs 3 months ago
Man, you know everything about me and Bill Murray. Happy FAWMing, brother dog.
  •  djbride 3 months ago
    Thanks for the comment Scott,
I double track my vocals most of the time, just to get them in tune (not really a singer),
plus it gives a full sound.
Looking forward to hearing your music this year.
    Good Luck at FAWN.

    Dave

  •  tcelliott 3 months ago
toilets seem to be my theme.. hrmrmr.... now THERE is an idea.
  •  mikedebenham 3 months ago
Do not fight the Vegemite. Do not impose your preconceptions on the Vegemite. Let the Vegemite come to you. Only then will you understand.

    (That you're eating Vegemite.)
  •  tspoon 3 months ago
hey Scott.. happy 2012.. I'm with you, simple, quick, dirty, lo fi, 1 take and move on this year. I'm thinking of doing it all on a manual typwriter and my old answering machine cassette recorder.
  •  sacraficialglam 3 months ago
nope...only on Friendster. Myspace is for chumps. I heard that facebook might have legs though.
  •  oddbod 3 months ago
just popping by to say howd'you do
  • thevelvetdrone 3 months ago
Howdy Scott O..... a lil birdy told me you have been cookin' up some tasty musical jams.
  •  mikedebenham 3 months ago
The implication that I'm keeping your search team locked in a shed to write me songs this February is preposterous, and I laugh it off. Ahaha. Ha. No, I'm afraid they fell victim to drop bears and a nasty case of Vegemite. (Yes, that's the ticket.)
  •  billysea 3 months ago
zackly.....what happens in the showers stays in the showers lol
  •  billysea 3 months ago
ohh, dirty recordings? I can't wait lol.
  •  mikedebenham 3 months ago
Your optimism was unfounded, sadly: the man from Melbourne's back. In less grim news, so are you.

Looks like my February's going to be a bit shambolic, but I keenly anticipate the annual Airing of the Washcloths.
  •  ianuarius 3 months ago
Sixth FAWM? yikes That's quite an accomplishment. You must be a pro by now! wink

Looking forward to hearing your tunes this year! smile

And there he sits, alone on the end of a park bench in some northern land, but smiling. Has he lost his mind? Does he know some dark or wonderful secret? Will he share it with us in song form this February? One can only hope!
  • simonjcurd 3 months ago
Thanks a lot, Scott! Just had a listen to some of your songs from last year - very nice stuff, hope to hear more soon...

Good to see you again here, sir!
  •  elainedimasi 4 months ago
    > simple, quick and dirty

Emphasize dirty. Then post innocent, friendly messages in the teenager-y forum threads to trick them into checking out your songs.

Or, compromise and write a song about somebody who does that!
