Bio

FAWM 2007 made me a songwriter, and since then I've been addicted. Here's to a great FAWM 2010!!!

==== Standard Bio Stuff Follows ====

So first, the AquaMunkee explanation - I'm psychotic about scuba diving, and when I started in 2005 I dove so much everyone called me "AquaMan." Then I got involved in a silly time-wasting game called Monkey Fight (www.gtfbtw.org I think?) and called my character "AquaMunkee" and the name stuck.

I've since made a logo (the icon used on FAWM) and based two home business endeavors off the name - AquaMunkee Studios and AquaMunkee Scuba. As the business names imply I am a home studio owner and also a PADI Scuba Instructor.

I look forward to reconnecting with my songwriting friends from previous years and also meeting more this year. I play guitar and dabble with keyboards, bass, and drums.

This year my FAWM goal is to incorporate the tenor sax I bought a few years ago but never learned to play and also harmonica. Oh, yeah, and it would also be cool if I end up writing a few songs that I'm really proud of this go-round!

Outside of songwriting-land I'm an electrical engineer / engineering manager and I help design cancer treatment machines.

==== Post FAWM ====

Well, another FAWM down! I'm disappointed I didn't devote as much effort this year as I had in the past, but at the same time I can't complain since the reason was that my efforts to get my independent scuba instruction biz off the ground made huge progress.

I didn't get the lesson in on tenor sax, so I missed that target, but I made it through the 14 song challenge and, in all, I'm happy with the way things turned out.

I listen to the bassline at work and need to dl to my recording computer later... but it's exactly what I was wanting.. and if nothing else it can act as a metronome to whatever we create..

I actually found it by trying to thin out the zong list, saw your name and had to check it out. Glad I did but I think more than anything it is a time issue and not a lack of appreciation (saw some zongs 3 days old, yikes, lol). I didn't notice you being out of breath but know what you mean. I can pick out every little fault in mine, and others just listen past them
