Thank you so much for listening to Ivory Lace... It actually just went up! Liz had to play some shows and although she had it figured out before the end of FAWM, could not get it recorded until now. I'll need to re-record it to get it into her key, but she sounds beautiful as it is too. I love when she completes my songs. Appreciated the listen and nice comment... 😀 I will check out some of your songs tomorrow!

  • @mmmmarcus  Mar 3

Thank you so much for the comment on "Killer", glad you liked it! And thanks again for all the support throughout FAWM!

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 1

Oh my goodness Dupletarion Warrior you are AWESOME!! You took the time to write 200 comments and listen to all those songs! Thanks for your hefty contribution to our community. You have 200 thank you’s from your fellow FAWMers and from me! Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @factorytale Feb 28

I've made the song, recorded the music and I only need to record, the Singing tonight

  • @aneil Feb 28

Thanks for your support from beginning to the very end. I feel in you I have found a FAWM friend maybe a colab next year. Time is nearly done
the final Feb song will be sung luckily everday is a new day to sing! We may meet again at 50/90

  • @factorytale Feb 28

I don't mean you have to feel excactly what you sing, but it's hard when it's the opposite of what I feel at the moment, but maybe I'll just do it anyway🙂

  • @billgcaldwell  Feb 26

Thanks for your kind words on Who I Am. I have known folk over the years who have slipped into that hell. I tried to imagine it (though I doubt that is really possible).

  • @wacha  Feb 26

Thank you for your kind words on "Into the Ether".

  • @tamsnumber4 Feb 26

You know I was thinking of you girl when I was recording the chimes!!

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 26

Just wanted to add one more thing. Even though I studied music composition at Biola University Conservatory Of Music, and it was a blessing, I was far less skilled than just about all of my peers in the program, since they’d been playing instruments and even composing from a young age. I didn’t start in choir and Band till 7th grade (despite having a very nice grand piano in the house as a child which I wasn’t allowed to play). So, gradually I distanced myself from more classical composition, moving to 1 minute film score mockups one semester and finally pop music for my final semester in 2008. While it was a source of insecurity for me, these circumstances ultimately led me to pursue popular music (the people’s music), which I’m thankful for. Hope that’s an encouragement to you, as you continue making music by instinct. 😀

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 26

Thanks so much, April! I definitely appreciate as well the opportunity to collaborate on "My Shadow." Getting better at music is definitely a process, and maybe I could have been where I am now without $35k in student loans! One things for sure is that the only way I've gotten better at songwriting is by doing it. There are some good resources out there, but that's only about 20% of it. The rest is the "perspiration." 😀

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 26

Thank so much for taking the time to listen to and comment on "They Say Love," @aprilm! I really appreciate your kind words.

  • @andrewjtaylor  Feb 26

Thanks very much, @aprilm for the compliments on "Pick a Fight." As a music composition major in college, this is the fun stuff for me. 😀

  • @spinhead  Feb 25

Oh, thank you thank you for popping into all my instrumentals. I know I can write lyrics and sing, but don't consider myself a musician so it's special to know some of these musical ideas work.

Check into the double harmonic scale, the Arabic scale. Tough on guitar, but keyboard or an instrument tuned in 5ths like the mandolin family or a tenor guitar, it's fun all kinds.

  • @spinhead  Feb 25

Roads and Rainbows was a real challenge. Thanks for the pleasant comment.

  • @misterd Feb 25

Thanks for listening and kind words for my song 'Late night TV' . Cheers 😊👍

  • @factorytale Feb 23

It's done now. I post it tonight when my kids are sleeping. I can't wait to hear what you think about it. I'm very happy with it myself 🙂

  • @factorytale Feb 22

Cool. Do you only want it on mail or would it be okay to put it on soundcloud to po s t it here?

  • @oddbod  Feb 22

Thanks April. Glad it turned out okay for you.

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 22

Thank you for the comment on "Make Peace With Me Darling"! Glad you liked it, and thank you so for the continued support through FAWM!

  • @oddbod  Feb 21

I've sent you an email with the MP3 - let me know if it comes through okay. Otherwise I can upload it and send you a link to download.

  • @wacha  Feb 20

Thank you for your kind word on "I'm Okay With That". I was honored to get to work with such wonderful lyrics.

  • @oddbod  Feb 20

I got the lyrics but my emails are still not getting delivered.
How do you want to do this? I will record my vocal parts on a separate track, but what then? Do you want me to send you my vocal as a separate track? If so, do you want it dry of any reverb?
Alternatively, I can mix my vocal in with the track you sent (i.e. just you singing +guitar backing). Or I guess I do it both ways!

  • @oddbod  Feb 20

Okay I managed a quick listen.
If you have the lyrics for my part if would be good. I could jot them down from the mp3 but if you have them written down already. Thanks
BTW, it says the reason the email bounced back was being “over the quota”. Perhaps you could grab yourself a fresh gmail account?

  • @oddbod  Feb 20

    Hi April
I got your email but when I replied I got a “failed delivery” message.
I will listen to the mp3s later today. I’m at work today so might be a few hours before I come back. Cheers Tim

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 19

Thank you so much for continued support! Glad you liked "Svårt Att Nå Dig". It's so unfamiliar ground for me to sing in Swedish, but it was fun so I might aim to do something more in Swedish.

  • @khowie  Feb 19

Thank you for listening to our songs and your positive comments. I added you to my watchlist and look forward to listening to your songs. 😊

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 19

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on my tracks! I'm glad you liked them. I'm personally very happy to have some variety in the songs and not just all in "one genre", it usually depends a bit on the initial idea for the track but also what instrument I write with. Acoustic, electric, piano - they all give me different ideas for the music and arrangement of the songs.

Glad you liked the rock stuff too. I don't feel as home on electric guitar nowadays as I mostly play acoustic when I do play guitar. The solos are most tricky since that's where I'm super rusty. Coming along at least. But you play guitar and rock out too, so don't be too humble about that.

  • @scubed  Feb 19

Thank you so much for your lovely words on "Insomnia"! 😀

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 17

Aww sorry about your foot! We grow kind of dependent on those so when they fail us it kind of sucks - hope you heal up soon! And glad you were planning on doing music and not a marathon tennis tournament tomorrow

  • @brownium Feb 15

Thanks for giving a listen to Blessings and Promises!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 15

April!! Loving this. Raining happiness making music with you!!! Hit me up anytime! Grateful for your musical magic!

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 2018

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Here’s your badge. Excellent work and keep busting’ those zongs!!

  • @debs  Feb 2018

Hee you're welcome, and thank YOU for the very awesome comment, too! Listening to skirmishes is one of my favourite things. You're in Kingston, April? That's so cool! 😀 A bunch of my coworkers are there and we did a work event there last year!

  • @whispermouse  Feb 2018

Thanks for listening! Any percussion on that track is just lucky finger squeaks and raindrops. I hear it too, but I'm sure I didn't record anything but rain, guitar, and vocals!

  • @mikkojuhani Feb 2018

Thanks for the comment! And wow, congrats on the win already.

  • @engebretsen  Feb 2018

Thx a lot for comments on "If I Said I´m Sorry" Much appreciated.

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2018

Hey April, since we've been riding some of the same wave length, would you want to try doing a co-write? I could email you some lines and you could add and semd back and the I will add and send back till we have some lyrics and then we can share music ideas? Let me know and I'll get it going via email...

  • @skittycat  Feb 2018

Thanks for the comments on "He never Saw It coming" 😀
Always feel a little sorry for the other guy 😉 My friend is a combat specialist and swordsman. That idiot mugger never stood a chance lol.

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 2018

Thank you so much for continued support and the comments on my collab track with Colleen! Was great working with her. I'm happy you liked the track!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2018

Well your music is so darn good - insightful emotionally intelligent lyrics and emotional delivery with outstanding phrasing - those are the kind of songs that reach deep to the core.

  • @scubed  Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your nice comment on "Art, Politics, and the Meaning of it All"! I think many of us lived that undergraduate life. 😄 Makes for pleasant memories - well, except for the cheap bee. My tastes have evolved.😊

  • @colgoo  Feb 2018

Thank you for your kind feedback on my collaboration with Marcus ("Other Side of the World"). He is the real deal, and I am honored he took my ideas and made them a reality!

  • @wacha  Feb 2018

Thank you for your kind words on "Start Again". I kind of fell into folk music lately. I had always considered myself more a of a rock person but am accepting that I'm more of a folk artist than I thought.

  • @aneil Feb 2018

Email me alexneilmunro@gmail.com it would appear African artists have internet fobia can’t find a link that plays.

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 2018

Thanks for the comment on Sushi Sunday! Haha, I do love sushi for real also. I had an idea for thrash metal but didn't want to write a stereotypical lyric for it.

  • @jorh Feb 2018

Thankyou for the wonderful comments on our song 😀

  • @aneil Feb 2018

April Janine Bartlett album is call Echos off the wall http://www.musicsense.org/album747550...

  • @berni1954  Feb 2018

Actually April, I live in Catalonia, (which as many people here would tell you IS NOT SPAIN) but my passport says I am Irish 😀

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2018

Aww... totally mutual - I am so grateful and awed by your talent!

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2018

Love love love!!! Thank you - you captured the sentiment so beautifully!

  • @mmmmarcus  Feb 2018

Hey, glad to find you on here! You've got a ton of tracks already! Well done! And thanks for the nice comments on my track!

  • @berni1954  Feb 2018

Thanks, April. Have you really written ten new songs already? That's impressive! This is my first year here. Is there a limit or are we supposed to stop at 14?

  • @kahlo2013  Feb 2018

Hi April, I was hoping to find a woman with a great bluesy sound in her pocket to bring a song to life - thought I would check with you first before asking around more broadly to see if you would have any interest:

  • @arthurrossi Feb 2018

Thanks so much for your comment on "Hell-Baby"! I would look very forward to it if you gave it a try... 😀

  • @nedflangers Feb 2018

  • @barbara  Feb 2018

Go, girl!! Get it all out there while you can! I am determined to slide some into the nooks and crannies, or wedge it in with witchcraft if necessary...

  • @barbara  Feb 2018

Hi April! I just started a new job on the 30th. I will be limping along on limited FAWM-time, but wanted to thank you for stopping over to my soundboard. You're off and running, which is wonderful! Go get 'em!!
