Artist Bio

Influences:   Mostly folky acoustic stuff. Folks currently getting a lot of play on my phone: Joe Stevens, Mouths of Babes, Danny Schmidt, Dar Williams, Ellis.

I’m a writer, musician, and knitter who also happens to be queer, trans, and bipolar. Originally from Minneapolis, I’ve been in Chicago since 2012, where I live with my partner, who is also a knitter and musician.

I wrote songs and poetry in high school, and then stopped for a while. When I met my partner in 2010 he told me about the songwriting classes he'd taken at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, and after we moved down here I signed up as soon as I could afford it. I've been back at it since November of 2013 and have averaged about 20 songs a year since then; my goal for this year is to hit 40.

I'd be hard-pressed to name a single genre I don't like at least *something* from. Most of what I write is folky, but I enjoy listening to everything from classical music to death metal.

2018 is my first FAWM, and I'm so happy to be here!

Thanks for the listen! Love your nice, clean vocal style. I'm also a bit jealous of the pace you've set - 9 songs in 6 days!

    Welcome to FAWM!

Welcome to FAWM! No need to be overwhelmed! 😀 Just relax and have fun!! Oh and if you have not tried skirmishing before I highly recommend it! Basically someone provides a title/prompt at an appointed time and we write a song in an hour and then listen and comment on the songs of the other participants! It sounds crazy impossible but I have found some of my best work is done within the time constraints of a skirmish!

If you are interested this weekend we are having 12 skirmishes over a 24 hour period, one every two hours, with the first one starting Friday, February 2, 2018 at 4pm CST!

    Good luck to you!
