Thank you for your kind words on "Such a Sin", I struggled a lot with that song and wasn't too happy with the song at first but it did grow on me.

  • @devin  Mar 9

    Dude... the hand?!?!?

    Oh noโ€™s!!

  • @pipewrench67  Mar 8

    Classy and distinguished.

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 8

Hey there! Thanks for listening to several of my collabs. Alex and Christine are both great to work with. Much appreciated!

  • @cblack  Mar 8

Ha! Horrortronica! I learned a new word today. ๐Ÿ˜

Seriously, I'm still surprised when people equate my music with either video games or horror... That's not usually my intent - it's just what seems to happen whenever I make a song! (Fortunately, I'm into metal and goth, so that sounds about right. ๐Ÿ˜)

  • @metalfoot  Mar 8

Re: My Friend -- Georgie is an amazing musician and an even better friend. It was an honour for me to get to work with her on that song. Thanks for your kind words on my harmonies!

  • @tcelliott  Mar 6

re: Helpless. Thanks for the listen and the comment. That last bit you wrote just might be the best comment I've received all year. And I just realized that I've missed your stuff all of Fawm.. which seems unimaginable except that I can see it with my own eyes. I'll be back.

  • @zecoop  Mar 6

Oh man... Can you give him a call? Long time fan here. ๐Ÿ˜€
Thanks for listening and even MAKING it to 4:12, lol

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 4

Thanks for what you said about Where Does This End. One of those last minute FAWM collabs that I felt I kinda rushed but actually pleased with how it came out. Cheers

  • @jibbidy34  Mar 4

Oh my goodness Dupletarion Warrior you are AWESOME!! You took the time to write 200 comments and listen to all those songs! Thanks for your hefty contribution to our community. You have 200 thank youโ€™s from your fellow FAWMers and from me! Excellent work and keep bustingโ€™ those zongs!!

  • @sueawesome Mar 4

it *is an impassioned dying request..

    I love Mazzy Star

  • @devin  Mar 3

Iโ€™ve never had the chance to form a โ€œvirtual bandโ€, but I bet we could agree on some cool tones and create at an EP of cohesive collab material.

  • @devin  Mar 3

Iโ€™m wondering if you and I should pick one week during 50/90 to try and get 25 songs?

Less pressure than waiting for FAWM to blitz it?

  • @gemhughs Mar 3

Wow... I imagine you would this piece 2 or more hearts if you could...

  • @sapient  Mar 3

Mmm, that coffee intrigues me ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  • @gemhughs Mar 3

Thanks for the listen & comments on http://fawm.org/songs/86282/ ("Memories of You")... a pedal steel guitar would be good addition to the arrangement,,, Thanks

  • @famouspatrick  Mar 3

Hey, thanks for busting my zong, "Blue Front Blues." Glad it made you smile.

  • @woody Mar 3

Heh, thanks for the thumbs-up on Barbecue. I was a yankee moved to Carolina for a decade _88-98 they'd roast a pig at the local bar for ACC tournament weekends I got hooked middle of coach K Dean Smith and Valvano and yeah that Boston Butt in a slow oven gets ya close!

  • @sueawesome Mar 3

    that was badass!!

  • @fourtracktape Mar 1

Yep... The standup bass from eargoggle was first, then ZeCoop added the electric guitar followed by guatecoop drums etc... Thanks for listening. That was a fun one to play on! (ZeCoop)

  • @sph  Mar 1

Ah, i have to add something to the liner notes. The percussion is the sound of a drumstick held against a rotating bicycle wheel ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @lishie5000 Mar 1

Thanks for the feedback! Ericโ€™s got such diverse talents and this tune was so catchy and spooky and spy movie, I could not resist!

  • @harmonicdirt  Feb 28

Music is finally up for our song โ€œBlue Moon Atlasโ€

  • @andcarl  Feb 27

Hey, thanks for the comments on Christendom. It was left intentionally ambiguous, seems like you picked up on exactly what I was aiming for.

  • @harmonicdirt  Feb 26

Thank you for your very kind feedback about the lines you liked in my song Blue Moon Atlas. That is so very encouraging ๐Ÿ˜€ You are doing great, by the way.

  • @devin  Feb 26

Bro, I snafu'd my bass plucking hand ๐Ÿ˜ž

I barely laid down a dozen notes on my last song... gonna have to switch to acoustic guitar. My apologies for not kicking off the metal-funk jam, grrr...

  • @dragondreams  Feb 26

Just heard it! And I love what you've done with it! ๐Ÿ˜
    Another great coffeecollab. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @standup  Feb 26

You know of course if you end up in DC for some reason on some random day you should look us up?

  • @guatecoop  Feb 24

Hey, I'm going to finally get to your song today I think...I hope.

  • @dreamscuba  Feb 24

Thanks for your comments on "A Different Beat". Appreciated.

  • @monty  Feb 23

Thanks for the cool feedback on my collab with @devin

  • @aneil Feb 21

You welcome to have a go edit all you like She is a strange one is one of my lyrics looking for a melody . Good luck and have some FAWM fun

  • @aneil Feb 21

Technoference demo is up ! 6 songs down to come . wanna colab for fun?

  • @andybalham Feb 20

Thanks for the lovely comment on 'Web of Broken Dreams'. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • @sph  Feb 20

Thanks for commenting on "Background". I like the lyrics a lot

  • @standup  Feb 20

That guitar sound in "Hold Her" was interesting to me (sounds like Santana, I think, a little bit, if Santana was a hack player). I had a vocal mic cranked pretty high, cranked the guitar amp up, and stood so that the vocal and the guitar were near the same level.

The sound of that guitar is a loud amp (well, a 4-watt Vox AC4) mic'ed from 10' away in a concrete room. Slightly weird sounding for sure.

  • @devin  Feb 20

    Dick Dale is diabolical stuff!!

  • @devin  Feb 20

Awesome... itโ€™s been too long since you and I disturbed the silence.

    Ooooo! Song Title Alert!!!

Imma gonna go attempt to alter musical reality to kick this off... maybe a funk bass line over a Sapient drum track. โ€œMETAL FUNK-BILLYโ€ is born!

  • @devin  Feb 20

Bro, if I can be any assistance for any rut-busting, just LMK. I read some frustration a few songs back about your default style (which I love, TBH).

If youโ€™re looking to rewire your cranium, I can start cooking something up that messes us *both* up.

Just sign this disclaimer, and weโ€™ll start operation โ€œWTF?!?โ€

  • @sync  Feb 19

Glad you liked it! It sure was fun to play on! Thanks!

  • @sync  Feb 19

I sent you the song with drums. Hope you like it.

  • @sync  Feb 18

Also, I wanted to say I love your profile pic. That was my fav age with my daughter. I was the shit back then. Then they grow up with their sharp teeth and rolling eye balls. Now I'm just an old dumb ass and her phone is the shit. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @sync  Feb 18

I'm having a blast playing drums on this song! I should have you something by tonight. Just wanted to give you an update.

  • @dragondreams  Feb 18

    Thanks, Eric! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Ž
Yep. My dad had some lurking at the back of his workshop! New old stock, prolly worth a few quid to a collector but priceless to me! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

  • @guatecoop  Feb 18

I completely agree with the "dragging" bit. It has been nagging on me for some time, but I am wondering if I should just wait until March. BUT, if I take care of that, it will cease nagging me. I like the song, but the one take drums aren't doing it for me. Thanks for the most helpful feedback that I have gotten this year. Normally people are scared to give the straight dope....

  • @oblivionratula  Feb 18

Heh, Thanks for the comment on "Slow is the Color." I remember playing a game like that with my dad - I can't believe I never thought to play it with my kids. Fixing that tonight!!!

And yeah, this would set up a fast song really well. In fact the next one I have slated might fit the bill . . . Thanks again. Girl are having a dance party right now, but once they get to bed I'm going to check out some of your tracks.

  • @sync  Feb 17

I meant psychic enemy. Stupid spell check

  • @sync  Feb 17

No worries. I can play to it whether I can sync it up or not. I'm def hearing a melody. Did u have a concept for lyrics re: psycho enemy? I like that title.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 17

Checked it out. Super cool. I'm on it.

  • @guatecoop  Feb 17

Got it! I think I can do something....well, when I listen to it I will know more, but I would guess that I can do something this weekend. Thanks for reaching out!

  • @klaus Feb 17

Yeah, no problem. It just might take some time to find suitable lyrics and asking permissions. Then I may have to edit the music ( the structure ) to fit the lyrics too...

  • @sync  Feb 17

Dude, LOVE that song! Thanks for inviting me in! I'd really enjoy adding drums! Do you have lyrics and vocals planned? What's the bpm?

  • @klaus Feb 17

Hi Tester. A wav-stereomaster would be nice. I'm hoping to use third-party lyrics. So don't add me yet...oh, too late. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @standup  Feb 16

Look around your space and see whatโ€™s on the floor. I threw away power strips that were underwater, cheap ikea rugs, and 9v pedal power supplies (a few). 2 pedals were on the floor, one survived one didnโ€™t. XLR connectors right now are in bags of rice hopefully drying out

It could have been way worse. Amps and gear were all up off the floor.

  • @blackrose1313 Feb 16

    Thanks for the feedback!

  • @klaus Feb 16

Thank you, mr Tester for commenting Body and Ghost.
Is Louder To Matter open for collabs? Add some bass and third party lyrics? Goth it up a bit?

  • @mikeskliar  Feb 16

thanks for listening to 'thoughts and prayers'- and yes, I know, its a very difficult subject and its easy to give up hope.. all I can say is, if we can get enough turnout to turn the House and Senate Democratic in 2018, and have a democratic president in 2020 and keep the majorities in congress, then meaningful gun control is certainly possible. it won't happen tomorrow, but a majority of americans do support it, and it can happen if we all stay engaged, vote, etc.! again, thanks for listening...

  • @cts  Feb 14

Thanks for stopping by the factory, may man. Keep the party movin'!

  • @standup  Feb 14

It was inches, that flood. One or two inches. I may not have been clear, but I like the image of hip waders and heroic efforts anyway.

  • @jibbidy34  Feb 13

Congratulations Centurion Soldier! You wrote 100 comments for your fellow FAWMers!! You made this place even better. You took your time to listen to other people's songs and you have 100 thank you's from all of them and from me! Hereโ€™s your badge. Excellent work and keep bustingโ€™ those zongs!!

  • @dragondreams  Feb 13

    My thoughts exactly! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜Ž

  • @dragondreams  Feb 13

    It was actually coffee! ๐Ÿ˜
None of my builds have cases, just the valves poking out of the bare chassis. And it wasn't really coffee, just an empty coffee cup. And gravity. And glass. From a matched pair ef806 pre-amp valves. Broken glass. No more valves. None in stock. More on order as of ten minutes ago though!

  • @benbarden Feb 12

Thanks for your comment on "Sapphire"! ๐Ÿ˜€ Appreciated!

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 12

Thank you so much Eric for your warm comment on my lyrics.
    Nadia ~

  • @radioovermoscow Feb 12

Haha, thanks! But don't abandon all media... I work in the media... abandon all *other* media ๐Ÿ˜

  • @valeriecox  Feb 12

Thanks for the commnet. Hey, do really make songs with toy xyplohohes and keyboard. Cool. I wondered how you got that awesome, grungy guitar tone. ๐Ÿ˜

  • @benbarden Feb 12

Thanks for the comment on "Darkside" ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @lieke Feb 12

So nice your comment on my instrumental, thank you. And yes capo of course, although I'm getting better in playing the guitar, I'm so spoiled using capo most of the time...
Btw, so cool that you use the muse titles, I think I may do that myself this FAWM as titles for me are somehow hard to choose.

  • @musicsongwriter Feb 11

Hi Eric, thank you so much for listening and writing such a thoughtful comment on Was it meant to be.
    Nadia

  • @ericdistad  Feb 11

Hey @airbagtester - thanks for the comments on Automatic - I hadn't really identified the imagery in the song as Zelda, but come to think of it, I'm in the middle of replaying Wind Waker just because. ๐Ÿ˜€ So, very well spotted! ๐Ÿ˜€

The irony is I have an explicitly Zelda song coming soon! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @valeriecox  Feb 10

Ha! P-style bass. Right. ๐Ÿ˜€ Tha KS for the comment.

  • @toms  Feb 10

Waterbury has rush hour traffic? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Thank you for the listen & kind comment!

  • @jamkar  Feb 10

Thanks again Eric for your always knowledgeable comments!

  • @fonte  Feb 10

Ahhh thank you so much for the thoughtful comment on 'stay' - you're right it's a hard balance to strike lyrically, longing sensitivity but vulnerbility and doubt - especially when you're also getting into a groove with a baseline ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • @guatecoop  Feb 10

I know...crazy. I work in mental health and was kind of mentoring this guy...fresh out of college, first job, just got engaged the previous weekend....he didn't reveal much of himself.
Anyway, I wanted to remove the drum machine with the drums an kind of push the gain on them to make them pop, but that's for later mixing...maybe even some snapback reverb and such. Yeah, we are on the same page but I just had to move on. Thanks!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 7

Thank you so much for your generous words...

  • @acousticmaddie  Feb 7

Thanks for your kind comment on Molly Malone.

  • @cindyrella  Feb 7

Thanks for you comments on my Feather song. I just had to get it out. He drives me nuts.

  • @sync  Feb 6

I think your finger drums sound pretty great! But if you ever want live drums, lemme know. Your songs sound like they'd be fun to play on!

  • @jamkar  Feb 6

    ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @toms  Feb 6

    Big Muff indeed. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @stevenwesleyguiles  Feb 5

    Love that little amp!

  • @wolfkier Feb 4

    ๐Ÿ˜€

  • @oblivionratula  Feb 4

Thanks for the feedback on Just Let It Happen. Yeah, there's some dynamic delay on the piano - perhaps if I just went with a simple reverb it would feel less jumbled to me. But really, I feel it just need a few-bar tacet in the middle to rebuild some tension. As for the sustain pedal, I agree. I recorded it in one pass just to get ideas and meant to re-do, but ended up liking the feel so much, I didn't bother. Had I sat down to play it, I'd have OVER-used the sustain, I have no doubt. ๐Ÿ˜

    Anyway, on to the next!

  • @goss Feb 3

Thank you for your thoughtful comment on White Stones. I hope you have a marvelous writing season! <3

  • @tcelliott  Feb 3

I never made it over to say hi, so 'hi!'

  • @crisp1  Feb 3

Thanks for your kind comments on Empty Spaces!

  • @arthurrossi Feb 3

I would like to thank you very much for your lovely and thoughtful comment!

  • @tiller2  Feb 2

Hi there, thanks for your kind comments on my Dylan dream lyric. The corn/bread line wasn't from my dream but came from trying to put an idea to the feeling the dream created and to express it in Dylan-ish language. He liked rural metaphors, so...

  • @pfoo  Jan 31

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜€ I'm running out of funny names.
