Bio

I write songs. I'm proud to say this is my fourth FAWM, and I'm thankful for the creativity and drive it sparks in me.

I perform regionally with the mountain music group Blue Moonshine (which includes fellow FAWMer Will Farmer) and the party band Monkey Fuzz.

http://www.theSixtyOne.com/philnorman has some tunes from FAWMs past and other endeavors. And, if you're so inclined, both Blue Moonshine and my 2001 solo album, Collision, are on iTunes.

Thank you for all the kind words, Phil. It's great to be reminded that we don't do this for ourselves.

Thanks Phil! Glad you liked it... looking forward to hearing more from you this time around!

    Hey, Phil.

Love "Get Up and Go"- I'm in the process of writing a murder ballad this year, and wanted to listen to the one you wrote last year...any chance you could tell me what it was called?

    Thanks,

    Shady

And lo, the Philness descended upon FAWM. And we rejoiced. Great to see you back, mate.
  •  Josh Belville 6 days ago
Phil, I think that's going to be the title of my next album: "Acoustic Josh Belville is Dead."
  •  teggy 1 week ago
Thanks for the info - I use Garage Band (which is a great deal easier than Vision DSP, which I used in the past) and I have wanted a firewire interface for a while. My struggles recording last night combined with your post finally made me pulled the trigger and I placed an order for a Firebox last night.

Hi Phil, we certainly did mention a collab.
I don't know if you've got anything else in mind, but I'd certainly love you to do a vocal on one of my songs. I have a few ideas taking shape. Let me know what you think.
  • Sean_T_Wright 1 week ago
Awesome voice and songs! You've a new fan!
  •  Halfpenny Orchestra 1 week ago
Thanks for signing up for Halfpenny Orchestra’s Loteria Challenge. You have been dealt: El Cazo (The Sauce Pan, No. 36). We’ve also seen this translated as the dish or the ladle. (You have a lot of license with this one.) In the description of your song, please include the subject of the card and its number. Also, please include loteria as a tag. Have fun!
  • Embers of Autumn 1 week ago
I really like the first song. If that's typical of what you can put out, I'll be watching.
  •  Elaine DiMasi 1 week ago
40% condolences 60% admiration re: resurrecting your G5! The ghost in the machine owes you a valentine smile

I see you are on The Sixty One -- how do you like it? I'm about to join, and if you had any advice, I'd appreciate it.
  •  Jharms 3 weeks ago
Thanks Phil, I think I'm going to do the same thing (use Garage Band for simple songwriting), especially since I at least know most of its quirks by now. Happy fawming!

hey Phil - was just looking at the inevitable re-introduce yourself thread in the forum.

The /. post about RPM challenge, but FAWM appealing more, is exactly how I got into FAWM too, at the same time - Jan 2007 smile

btw glad you're back, wouldn't be a proper FAWM without you - can't wait to hear what you do this year smile
